View Full Version : Chiefs Any RB will do?

Some people here have argued in the past that RB has become a plug and play position in the NFL. I'm going to try and find the thread....but after today I'm convinced this team CANNOT sustain winning without Ware/Charles. West is a great change of pace back but our running game was NON-EXISTENT, 13 ATT 39 YDS , (14 of which came at the end of the game) today.

We have to keep Ware healthy and figure out how to get Davis back in the game when Ware/West are out.

I said we should have signed Spiller, we dropped the ball.

Davis is no longer on the team.

Nonsense. West led the Chiefs last year in yards from scrimmage.

The Jags have a metric fuck ton of talent on defense and the Chiefs were starting an inaccurate intermediate passer and a 2nd string left guard.

West is fine, Davis will likely be cut, again, after Sankey or Reaves are ready to go.

Did they cut him right after the game? :spock:

LMAO That's what I get.

I had to follow the game via NFL gamecenter on my phone today. Carry on.

When Knile Davis is out there it's not good. That guy is the equivalent of watching me play tennis or golf. I can do it without looking like a complete idiot but I have no right to be playing with the big boys.

When used as a Change of Pace back - he is fast and shifty but not an every down back and the run game suffers when he is the only option

Yes we really dropped the ball by not signing a guy averaging 3 ypc over the last 2 years.

LMAO I think Davis is decent - my biggest problem with him is that he fumbles at the most inopportune times.

What are you expecting from any of the RBs we brought in?

Spiller has way more upside than those other guys. It's not like he would be here forever.

I'm not talking stats. I watched the games. They tried using him as a third down back. He couldn't block and he couldn't get open in the underneath routes. He just looked really slow.

True I will give you that, he does have home run speed... but what good is home run speed when you strike out 99 times out of 100?

he hasn't had more than 50 carries in those two years....

So he sucked and he couldn't stay healthy?

Ware only has a concussion, we only need a guy to come in and carry the ball a few times for a few weeks and then said guy is likely to be cut.

I'm just saying that IF Ware gets hurt again (Concussion/Turf Toe whatever) late in the season I'm not confident West as the sole RB can get us a W. We got really lucky today. This is not a good one dimensional team

on a side note - how come Reid doesn't use the sausage for some running plays? I swear we have in the past...

Yeah I do agree with you. I agree with your assessment of west, and that he's mainly a change of pace guy (though the run blocking was Crap today) And I also agree with your plug and play take. I Just don't think spiller is that guy. Here's to hoping ware stays healthy :toast: . His injury was pretty minor and everything should be ok.

West wasn't good today
Davis was his normal "meh" self

neither as are good as Charles or Ware

I think i prefer Reaves over West in this offense as well.

Agree. Going forward, Chiefs will need Ware to be healthy for success against good teams.

I would love to see Reaves on the active roster. But with a healthy Charles/Ware/West that's a pipe dream.

BTW any word on whether Charles will be eligible to play come playoffs assuming he is healthy?

That team has some players. Probably should win that division if they did not turn the ball over or make other mistakes.

Traded back to the Packers.

Even shorter time in GB this go around, it was a sign & cut deal.

So I read the Chiefs again resigned him just a few minutes ago & traded him to Tampa for a conditional 7th....

We need some running plays with Tyreek Hill lined up in the backfield. I'd love to see a quick toss to him in a short yardage situation where he can get outside.

I am completely unimpressed with West this year, he isnt a guy capable of carrying the load, period... one lineman being out and Foles in shouldnt be a deciding factor

Whatever his 40 time is, it doesnt translate on the field and his vision is no great shakes either... this quickly went from our deepest position by far, to a canker sore in a hurry

It isnt hyperventilating to say... I'm worried

If my memory serves me sausage is a bit of a fumbler. I know his number has been call a few time on a pass and he has dropped it. Over the years of banging with the big boys the hands get undependable as a fullback.
