#Chiefs coach Andy Reid says Dee Ford, Derrick Johnson, Maclin, Poe (knee) and Kendall Reyes (knee) & Charcandrick West won't practice today

I asked Reid if Dee Ford's injury is a long-term thing. He said he's day-to-day and is pretty upbeat.

Sounds like Ford will play. That's good

Maclin over-rated? Where'd that come from? Seems like he's a very good WR who is having a bit of an off year. But over-rated? Certainly not in my mind. Get him healthy again and I think we'll see a legitimate #1 WR.

I'm just concerned that his injury is one of those lingering groin things that seem to take forever to heal. We need this guy back in the line-up.....bad.

Maclin was targeted 15 times in the Texans game and only caught 6 for 69 yards.

Maclin's had plenty of plays in which he screwed the pooch solely by himself.

There is a difference with being hurt vs being injured.

Of course I have not forgotten than "Red Zone Reid" shoots his eye out more times than Lil' Ralphie with his jank-ass, Red Ryder BB gun.

That said, he's the HC. The #WINNING head coach of your Kansas City Chiefs, and he's not going to go away or hand over play calling duties to someone who may be better, or at least less retarded.

Now, a more "independent-minded" QB under Center might be so inclined in such situations to survey the red zone and choose a more appropriate path, perhaps to a second quality option that knows how to get good separation in tight spaces?

That's about the extent of the shit that can be thrown against the wall at this point.

Jeremy Maclin, Alex Smith, Allen Bailey, and Jamaal Charles all need to be cut in the offseason.

Anyone care to calculate how much money the Chiefs would save in cap space or how much they'd pay in dead money etc.

This team is going to have to pay Poe Berry and Peters. IMO that's more important.

You want to get rid of a 1000 yard/8 TD receiver that led the league in fewest dropped passes in 2015?
Did you call for Charles to be cut after he missed most of one season and also left the Indy playoff game early in 2013?

Speaking of the injuries though - When does the strength and conditioning team start to take accountability for the number of injuries on this team? It seems like every year, this happens under Reid and this staff. Going back to the mishandling of Houston (way too late for surgery) to not getting Charles evaluated earlier (now two miniscus trims) to Muaga, March, Bailey, Ehinger, Maclin, Howard, Peters...not to mention the time missed by Gaines, White...along with DJ and Hali barely practicing every week.

Some of these can't be avoided. Some are just bad luck. But it seems like this is more of the norm than the exception YOY.

This isn't just a Chiefs phenomenon, it's league wide.

Look at all of the injuries sustained by the Chargers this year? Gronk can't stay healthy in NE and they're constantly having issues.

Six QB's so far in Cleveland? Joe Flacco tore his ACL last year and they lost a lot of players, too. Is that the fault of the trainers?

The main reason we're seeing more and more injuries is because:

A. Lack of practice time and time in full pads
B. HGH testing.

Zombo playing a lot = loss

What's with all of the Zombo hate (ok, hate might be too strong of a word, but...)? Seems like a decent backup guy who's reasonably assignment sound.....plus, he's one of our few LBs who has not succombed to injury. Not sure what he's done to evoke such vitriol.

I'm not sure the Cheefs will score 10 points to be honest. Sorry KC fans.

He's been hurt this season.

He has a history of being hurt...a lot.

Not only that, but before his injury, he's playing WAAAY under his contract value at the moment.

No he doesn't.

I can't believe the temerity of the NFL, making the world wait over 1/2 a season to watch these two useless bags of shit knuckle-up and tard-fight each other with Scooby-Doo lunch boxes on national television.

Hopefully, and old episode of "Maude" will be playing somewhere...

You honestly think the Chiefs are good enough to run the table or, worst case scenario, drop one of the next six and hope Oakland and Denver completely fall off pace as well?

Because those are the only two ways KC wins the West.

Will they get a WC? Perhaps, but considering how awful the offense is and how just about every defensive star is hurt, I wouldn't put money on them even doing that at this point.

They've gotten a lot of good breaks to get to 7-3 -namely with turnovers and having the fortune of having a Mike McCoy team go full retard to steal a win to start the year. The Chiefs have overachieved this year. Don't know how that's unfair to point out.

Yeah, you're right. Oakland and Denver haven't had any good breaks at all this season.

KC has already beaten Oakland at their place. Split with Denver and beat Oakland at Arrowhead along with beating Tennessee and San Diego and that should be enough to win the division.

It won't be a blowout because the Broncos offense isn't anywhere near like the Steelers offense...but it will be one of those games where the defense keeps it close and the offense just never puts us over the top.

But your original point wasn't just about this season, but past seasons. They have been in contention for titles recently. You can't reference KC's luck and then ignore the luck that OAK and DEN have gotten.

KC also doesn't need DEN to "fall off". They still play both OAK and DEN at home. It's not like KC is 3 games back. Right now they play OAK once and DEN twice and currently hold the tie-breaker with OAK.

You can make a argument without much trouble that KC won't win the division. But that they aren't contenders for the division? That just isn't true.

I just realized tonight this there is no reason to watch the Royals and Chiefs every move. My very young daughters were confused by my emotions and reactions, as they've never seen me that way. In some ways, it was kind of scary for them, which hit me pretty hard.

I've been a die hard supporter of both teams since I left in February 1993 but it's time for me to acknowledge my current responsibilities. Reading books and watching educational programs is more important than a watching baseball team 2,000 miles a way in a city in which I don't live.

Pretty humbling..

Not really. Dane himself said he expected a three game losing streak after blowing the Tampa game, so...

Well, shit.

In all honesty, I think they're headed for a 4 game losing streak.
