With this and Stephenson literally holding Houston for dear life every pass play, we had some bad fuck ups by the refs

It is taunting and should have been flagged. Love Peters' reaction there too. He of all people knows what constitutes a taunting penalty. This one was even more obvious than Peters'.

It was-just not called

Several late calls spoke to the officials saying, "Hey...this is the Donks home, they get home cooking. Besides we want to get out of here alive."

The only thing I can think of is that the refs were focused on the hit and just didn't think about it. That's not a valid reason so much as an excuse though.

I'm more pissed off that Berry was called for a penalty. That was bullshit. He wasn't defenseless.

Sanders has become my most hated Bronco. If you watch the whole clip, it looks as if Sanders immediately thought the flag was because of his taunting. He knew it and should have been called for it.

I saw a few finger wagging moments from the Broncos as well. If Peters is going to get called for it, then everyone should get called for it.

It was a helmet to helmet hit. Definitely illegal but I loved every second of it.

Any way we can get the actual hit gif'd up? Berry brought the hammer down on at least three occasions that I can remember.

I no longer understand what is and isn't a penalty when it comes to "helmet to helmet" hits. There were plenty of big hits to the head yesterday that didn't draw a penalty.

I think the receivers have started to use the rule about helmet to helmet to their advantage and duck their head down to where the blow is coming to try to draw the flag. Sure, there are times where it is blatant that the defender went high where the head is on purpose, but those plays where the receiver ducks down the tackler can't really hit them anywhere else, and can't really change their momentum at the last moment to avoid it anyway.

Generally if you go helmet to helmet on a receiver within about 1.5 seconds of him making the catch, it'll be considered helmet to helmet on a defenseless receiver.

If he's already a runner then pretty much all bets are off. Unless he's a QB, in which case they'll call you pretty much every time unless your name is Cam Newton.

I think intent has to included in the decision to make it an unnecessary roughness. Berry was locked in on the guys midsection, but he hit the head as the guy tried to duck. Berry was coming in at full speed and couldn't shift his momentum, what was he supposed to do?

That was taunting if they are going to call taunting.

How come Talib is allowed to finger wag? Was half expecting him to drop kick a football into Reeks nuts and not get called.

From what I understand, you can finger wag in general as a celebration, you just can't do it at another player.

Donk that's why.

It doesn't really matter. Taunting in general as a call is stupid. Then it is 15 yards. WTF? Give penalty yards for doing shit that ends up giving a competitive advantage. There isn't any advantage gained by taunting. It doesn't really matter. But they've made it an issue because while the taunting doesn't matter, the penalty yards do. So Peters getting dinged for doing it to nobody specifically and getting tagged while fucking Donk stands over the corner doing it gets nothing. Retarded. This shit is another good example of why the ratings are down.

I'd agree here. And offensive guys are throwing their heads in the road so they can draw it, because again, the yards matter.

Peters did punt a football into the stands twice. Once there was a no call. And the other only got 5 yards when he could have gotten 15 and blew the game.

If we are strictly comparing calls and no calls Chiefs and Broncos though hands down Donks get way more calls their way.

Yeah, I feel like everyone was mesmerized by that miracle of Sanders popping back up after that hit.

They held Houston 20 times the second half. Never have I seen a player so unblockable.

Even if it cost us 15 yards, it was so worth it.

Berry was wrecking faces last night.

I thought Berry broke the donk RB's neck early in the game. They came back from break and he was up. I dont think he returned to the game though.

He did return but didn't do anything of note.

The first time didn't delay the game, the second did.

Not sure how it would be 15 when it's just delay of game.

We could hold trials to determine said intent. Brilliant!! :p

Sanders can act all cool and pretend that hit didn't hurt but the slow motion replay shows it. He got lit up.

If the player is a runner then you can do it. Still a defenseless WR you can't.

As for the finger wag, part of me thinks because they believed the hit wasn't clean that they were giving the WR some wiggle room. Odds are though, that they are just terrible and missed it.
