View Full Version : Chiefs The Chiefs' wildcat with Ware may be my favorite wildcat formation I've seen.

Look at this:

http://chiefsplanet.com/BB/picture.php?albumid=140&pictureid=1823

That is beautiful.

It gives you AT LEAST five options:

1. Chuck it to Smith and give him an opportunity to gain some yardage with Conley blocking.

2. A run by Ware up the gut.

3. A run by Ware off right tackle with Kelce lead blocking. (We ended up running this for a big gain in the red zone.)

4. A sweep to Tyreek Hill with Kelce lead blocking. (We ended up running this for a TD.)

5. A toss out to Albert Wilson if, for some reason, he were a realistic option.

That doesn't even include how you could utilize this for a run for Kelce or Hill up the gut, or a wheel route out to Hill's side, or a weird double-lateral thing to Alex Smith that ends back up in Ware's hands if you want to get crazy.

Such a versatile formation that can do so much. Really forces the defense to account for everything.

Props to Andy for this creative arrangement.

It's going to get even better when we get Maclin back in there instead of Wilson.

That was my exact thought. Can Ware throw because if he can that lineup could be unstoppable.

If we're not going to throw forward passes anyway, I'd much prefer to see more of this formation.

It would look even better if the picture was in the OP.

Ware used to be a quarterback.

Backward pass to Alex Smith who throws a pass back to Maclin at the original LOS.

Imagine all of the plays that Andy could roll out in the playoffs out of this formation if he got a top seed and bye in the playoffs... We need this to happen.

Why the fuck is throwing it to Alex Smith your 1st option?

Have him run a slant right at the safety. Throw it high.

I sneaky really like Ware. He is tough and falls forward. How bad is Kniles though. Man he is terrible.

Throw a screen pass to Alex so he can throw a screen pass. It's genius.

Knile's problem must be his fitness - nobody goes to being serviceable to horrible in one off season. It's about the only thing it could be - barring an injury he's hiding - which I've never heard of that happening.

He really is a nice guy though.

I would seriously make it a project to find new ways to get Tyreek into space.

So far Andy has only ran power read out of this formation. Leaves the end man on the LOS unblocked and Ware has to read the guy to decide to keep or give to Hill.

Personally, I would rather see Jamaal in there for Kelce if he gets back in a month. You could run it either way and it would be a bitch.

Put Kelce at QB with Ware and Hill on each side. Do a fake handoff to Ware going one direction and then do the option the other way with Hill.

He was a former QB as well.

They need to be working on a pass play out of the formation.

They need to be working on a regular offense that can convert a third down.

When maclin returns the 4 receiver set with Kelce, Hill, Maclin, and Conley is going to be Smith's most productive formation

If I remember correctly, Ware played QB for a while in college, right? Passing from this formation might not be that much of a decoy.

High school.

He was not the QB for LSU, lol
