View Full Version : Chiefs The will KC beat the Raiders poll. Go on record

I say yes because I want to believe when healthy we can smash anyone at home. I want Arrowhead of the 90's back when Marty dared a team to come to our house on a cold December night and win. We need this win to have a season ending in glory.

We MUST absolutely jump on them early. If we let them hang around and are up by a few points late, I worry about magic man Carr. Most 4th QTR comebacks of any QB.

Keys to victory:
1. Win turnover battle by +2 or more
2. NO PENALTIES
3. Protect Alex
4. Open up the offense like we did at Atlanta
5. Better tackling
6. Sack Carr early
7. Special teams need to shine

This game really has the odds against the Raiders.

-Karl Josepth will be out
-DJ Hayden will be out
-Carr's finger on his throwing hand is fucked
-Chiefs are healthy
-Raiders have to travel halfway across the country to play on a short week
-Raiders don't play well in the cold
-Jack Del Rio has been outcoached by Andy 3X in a row and it's a short week
-road teams don't do well on TNF

Raiders 20
Chiefs 24

Oakland gets a late TD to make the game look close on paper when it's really not

Wait a moment, slow your roll Scho63....

I can see us going back on the a very controlled shell and leaning heavily on the special teams and defense.

This is a weather game, we wont force our offensive will on the Raiders. We will sit back and wait for THEM to make the first mistake.. Then we go for the FG.

Abstain. I have no idea. We "should" win this one, but Oakland is a different team than the one we pasted by 16 at their place. Maybe the atmosphere and the cold will be too much of a factor for them to overcome.

Our anemic offense worries me, as does our penchant to rely on plays that just don't happen every game to win. We HAVE to shut down Murray and their running game, or else Carr will carve us up with play action.

Again, we *should*, but I'm nervous. Neither of these teams are used to playing games of this magnitude this late in the season (the Chiefs had their run last year, so I guess any sort of edge goes to them in this regard), so we'll see who is more ready to take a step forward from contending for wild card status.

This one of those games that I won't care how we win. Don't care is Smith misses wide open guys or if the OL looks bad. Just win the game any way possible and move on. I feel like we are against the wall on this one. Lose this game and we won't be div champs. Can get a WC most likely but not much chance of the bowl.

We have to win. We just have to.

How could a Super Bowl contender lose at home to Oakland? This will surely be a 2 or 3 touchdown beatdown. We might have ten sacks. Hidden TDs as far as the eye can see.

We MUST absolutely jump on them early. If we let them hang around and are up by a few points late, I worry about magic man Carr. Most 4th QTR comebacks of any QB.

Keys to victory:
1. Win turnover battle by +2 or more
2. NO PENALTIES
3. Protect Alex
4. Open up the offense like we did at Atlanta
5. Better tackling
6. Sack Carr early
7. Special teams need to shine

Keys to Victory:

1. Score more points than the Raiders.

I think the Chiefs D plays a good game, but I think the Raiders D surprisingly does too. I think the Raiders O will be strictly impacted by the Chiefs D while the Chiefs O will be impacted by both unexpected better play from the Raider D and Andy reeling the O back due to a close game and waiting for the D to seal the deal. I think the Raiders really want this game and want to avenge the earlier loss. I just have a feeling the Chiefs play with a slight point edge most of the game then the dam breaks in the 4th and it will be up to the Chiefs O to get the win.

9-6 Raiders at the half.

13-9 Chiefs at the end of the third.

16-9 Chiefs after Peters gets a pick to set up good field position. Chiefs D tightens up in the redzone and prevents the game from going into OT.

Smith 13/20 175 yrds, 1TD 0 INT 3 rushes for 55 yrds
KC rushes for 250 yrds total
Hill has 135 all purpose yards

KC's D has a bad night against the run allowing Oakland to rack up 125 yards in rushing but sack Carr 5 times and has 8 knockdown / pressures.

The secondary steps up and picks Carr off twice (Peters gets on and either Berry or Sorenson gets the other).
