Thursday night Chiefs/Raiders game harkens back to the days when the rivalry was at its most fierce.

There was a time when the two franchises were among the best in the NFL, and the Chiefs and Raiders duked it out on the field. The bad feelings and brawls also took place in the stands.

Thursday’s game was just like old times. The Chiefs beat the Raiders and moved past Oakland and into first place in the AFC West.

And there were fisticuffs in the stands as well. It appeared to happen after the game, and it was good to see the police get there at the end.

Please note there is some bad language in this video:

Can't embed video that goes with story. Sorry. Also the Fade fan in the 34 jersey is a beast. Looks like he knocks out at least 2 people.

Why don't they have segregated seating plans for visiting fans? In England this would happen all of the time at our Soccer matches if fans were mixed.

These aren't nearly what they were back in the day before the Chiefs had cops and security people everywhere. In the old days there were fights in the upper deck that would rage on for ten minutes with dozens of participants. Now it's just a couple haymakers and some pushing and shoving and it's over.

Sad. Really over a game. I have been to many games and been drunk and upset but never did it occur to me to talk shit to other fans or anyone for that matter. Last year I was at the Raider game and after it was over me and my Raider buddy were leaving and a Chiefs fan had the nerve to come up to us and talk smack. I told him to get the hell out of our faces and stop embarrassing the city.

Couple idiots fought in the parking lot as we were driving out. The bigger boy was bowing up and the smaller guy delivered the first shot; absolutely smoked the guy into our truck. He bounced off and wobbled quite a bit until his buddies held him back.

When we got to the gas station outside of town and changed out of the warm weather stuff we saw a bunch of blood down the side of the truck. The guy must've gotten absolutely rocked.

It was a little bit funny, to be honest. The guy probably had 50 lbs on the dude that hit him and he clearly wasn't expecting it even though he kept calling for it. Clearly one of those big guys that's spent a lot of time barking and just never expects anyone to actually call him on it.

Had a Raider fan in our row that was stumbling quite a bit, his buddies were holding him up. He ends up hurrying out of our row, down the steps. Starts puking, but he was wearing one of those face masks with the holes in it for your breath, so it was squirting out the holes and up into his eyes.

it really is a factor when they do the open gate thing at noon on a 730 game, IMO. Didn't help the Raider fans drank the Airplanes out of booze either, but regardless - people need to pace themselves - there's no excuse for that.

Seemed like a bunch of KC fans came in with some flying leg kicks that will HURT tomorrow.

And the best shot out of all that was by a Raiderfan who flat DROPPED the KC fan in front of him.

Though, to be fair, they have more experience at this type of thing...

Well.... they told the Chiefs fans to go home. Fade fans going to their home away from home.

In a separate story...
Went to game 2 of the Rays v Phillies WS (and the only game my Rays won). There were LOTS of Philly fans there. In our section there was one Philly fan who was getting mouthy. Lot of alcohol, but no real fight broke out. But security came to check it out, and then we started taunting the Philly fan. He gets super mouthy and threatening people in front of the police and got thrown out. It was pretty funny to watch. Soon as police showed the whole group of us knew what we had to do to get him kicked out, and he took the bait easily.

The only fight I have ever been in at a Chiefs game was Chiefs/Raiders 2011 Christmas Eve. The folks that sit in front of us are great people, they had a young (early 20's) Raider fan sitting next to them. When the Chiefs tied it up to go to OT the crowd erupted. This Raider fan kid got pissed and he was hammered drunk. He shoved the man standing next to him and caused a domino effect where three other people fell into the aisle (2 of them were women). I guess he realized he fucked up so he tried to step over his seat into our aisle. When he did he damn near fell because he was so drunk. That's when he grabbed my wife's coat to steady himself and almost pulled her down with him. I wailed on that kid. The Jackson County off duty cops came down to our seats and everyone told them what happened. They asked my wife if she wanted to press charges against him and she said no. The two ladies ha had shoved down earlier did press charges against him. The cops never said a word to me.

The worst part of that kid's bullshit was in his rush to get away from the people he had shoved he left his girlfriend sitting there with no way out. She was a really sweet kid and she was scared to death. My wife and I talked to her after and I apologized to her. We even gave her a ride home.

I've been to countless games, and I've never sat up top. Sounds like I don't want to. I've always heard things get a little wild up there. I like our Section. We have Alfred (the guy who walks up and down the isle and helps lost people). He's cool as hell. We're all like family down there. :)

There are the two guys who sit behind us who blame the refs for EVERYTHING. And then there's the screaming girl who always gets pissed at everyone for not being loud enough (even when we're on offense) once she's drank enough. It's quite the experience, although pretty muted compared to up top, I would assume.

A few years ago, after a Raider game I was walking to my car and saw this chick, probably 250 lbs, grab some skinny drunk guy in a Raiders jersey and slam him down on the hood of a car by his head, slam his head on the car hood three or four times, then she grabbed him by the shirt collar and his belt and flung him into a porta potty next to where the car was parked. gb is correct. Back in the day, those brawls upstairs would rage for an entire quarter. Security was sparse until the Peterson era. Those donx division games in the early 80's were a bit dangerous.

Not as many KC fans attended, so Donx fans would flood the place because it was easier than getting a ticket to mile high.

I swore George was the QB though.

That was against the Raiders in 1998 when DT went off on George. The Vikings Sunday Night Game was in 1999, Gunther was the man in charge then.

Thursday night Chiefs/Raiders game harkens back to the days when the rivalry was at its most fierce.

There was a time when the two franchises were among the best in the NFL, and the Chiefs and Raiders duked it out on the field. The bad feelings and brawls also took place in the stands.

Also the Fade fan in the 34 jersey is a beast. Looks like he knocks out at least 2 people.

#34 looks like he came to rumble. ROFL

I admire the way he stood on the seat waiting to take on his next challenger.

If any of you brave souls are looking for adventure go to a Dallas @ Philly game wearing a Dallas jersey. I've been to a couple just because both my brothers are big Philly fans and shit gets real. I can't imagine going full fisticuffs with someone in the cheap seats. Way too steep if you lose your footing.

Philly Stadium is rumored to have it's own holding cells.

Arrowhead has a mini jail in the basement. Bailed out friends there before.

Seen some interesting fights at Arrowhead. Best one was about 15 years ago. It was the home game vs the Dolts when Sly Morris scored 3 TDs in a blowout.

After the game, in the parking lot, 2 drunk Dolt fans were trying to pick a fight with anyone in a Chiefs' jersey. When nobody would acknowledge them, they started arguing. Then one hit the other and it was on. A small group of Chiefs' fans stood and watched them pummel each other into bloody pulps. Nobody broke it up. They just kept punching and kicking until they were too exhausted to continue. Perfect ending to a great game. :)

Dude, the story is much better than that.

It was a Sunday night game and back then the Best Western across from Worlds of Fun sold packages that included rooms and rides to and from the game.

I think we had 26 people along, a mixture of both Chiefs and Vikes fans. Obviously we partied all day and tailgated in the hotel parking lot. Much alcohol was consumed.

The falling incident part I got up to let someone in on the end and I lost my balance. I grabbed for the railing down the middle of the aisle but missed it. Figured it was better than fighting it and tucked and rolled. About my third time summersaulting I wondered if it was ever going to end.

I ended up stopping with my head against some seats and my legs pointing up the stairs. I was like a turtle on my back. I opened my eyes to see one of my buddies stood up looking at me. He came down and checked under my cap to make sure my head wasn't bleeding. I barked at him to get me up. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up. I looked up the section we were sitting in, raised my arms and yelled "I'm OK!". The whole section cheered.

I was joking and high fiving my friends on the way back up. When I got back to my seat my girlfriend at the time was shooting me daggers that would kill a more sober person.

On the way back to the bus we lost one of our crew, a woman that was a Vikings fan. The bus was to leave 30 minutes after the game ended. My brother and her husband got off the bus to look for her, and in the meantime the bus left. Luckily they had made the plan that if the bus left my niece that was old enough to drive but not old enough to drink and my sister in law would come back to get them.

The bus drops us off back at the hotel and they leave back to the stadium.

In the meantime the GF and I go to our room to take some of the heavy clothes off. She is still major pissed, so I tell her I'm going back out to the parking lot and have another beer.

Standing there with friends talking and BSing about the game, I tell my friends she is pissed and I told her whatever and left. My friends are silent. I say to them "she's here, isn't she". They start to giggle. I look to my right and there she is with the daggers again staring at me . I say "well boys, it's time to go." and head back up to the room. Needless to say there wasn't much said before bed, nor any action that night.

The rescued Vikes fan gets back unharmed.

That was a great trip. My back though had a nasty bruise across it for a week.

I have been to two games there. We won and lost one... Same results with the fans every time NOT A SINGLE PROBLEM...

GB we won - no problems.
Indy won/lost no problems
NO, won/lost - no problems
Dallas lost - no problems
Houston lost - no problems

But then agian, I dont go full white trash all smashed on Kers LITE...

That's cool. Figured maybe divisional away games could be rough. But glad to hear it's a little more respectful. But yeah as always "don't start nothin, won't be nothin" especially in someone else's stadium.

I went to the NO game at the superdome. I was harassed mostly good-naturedly throughout the entrance to and during the game. There were really two moments that it started getting dicey... First, when i went to the Bathroom in the 3rd quarter.... 2 gentlemen at the urinal genuinely wanted to fight me when I was watering the porcelain. Just smiled and laughed, they didn't find that funny and it just made them more aggressive. I got back to my seat pretty quickly.... Second, we won in overtime. It became a little more aggressive from the masses as well.... no direct confrontations, but the anger was thick towards anything wearing red.

I have family that have been season ticket holders for decades. In about 92 or 93 I went to a game with them. The seats are at about the 20 yard line in the lower bowl, maybe 15 rows up. A fan of the other team got into an altercation and 2 Jackson County sheriffs handcuffed him and were waking him down from about 10 rows above us. He was kicking every person in the aisle seat. He wound up to kick his next victim, and just as he swung his leg, they both let go. He did a Charlie Brown and landed on his back with his hands handcuffed behind him, His body and head made an audible thud. After about 30 seconds of laughing they picked him back up. Needless to say, he didn't kick anyone else.

Yep I would have come at him down the aisle above him. Number one the seat he was standing in's back would have prevented him from stepping into his punch number two it's always better to have the height advantage. Bombs away.

Well that's what I would have done if I was one of those bitch ass dudes.

Personally I would have walked up and put em up. He's obviously got a Decent punch. It's fun to be challenged.

Too often I get guys down from the city looking to pick on old retried guys in the bar. I push enough buttons they feel pumped up and one punch usually puts em out.

It's nice to eat a couple punches sometimes.

It was awesome. She totally kicked his ass. Have no idea what they were arguing about, didn't stick around to ask questions.Probably her husband. :D
