Since we have depth issues on the DL, a good read on a linebacker heavy defense https://taylorblitztimes.com/2012/04/11/fritz-shurmurs-eagle-defense-the-birthplace-of-the-zone-blitz/

Our Linebacker position isn't exactly deep. Great starters but meh after that.

It seems to be an approach to contain a running QB or confuse a young one. I'm not sure you can run this all the time but I'd love to see it used against Mariota. Try to goad him into an Int or bury him in a scramble.

Good read... I learned something there, always thought Dick LeBeau was the architect of the zone blitz

our starters aren't great outside of Houston

We wouldn't be 27th in rush yards given up if our linebackers were that great.

We've always struggled against the run with Sutton. Why is it the linebackers' fault?

They were before DJ went down.

We had Houston, DJ, and a rotation of Hali/Ford...

Because the run is no longer as dangerous as the pass.

Teams pass more and more big plays are made in the passing game.

The team has conceded the run at times outta the Dime. When they've bulked up, they have not surprisingly stopped the run.
