The Titans were GASHING us on the ground. You can't expect your edge rushers to get upfield when they're churning out 6-7 yard runs all day long.

The Titans also have great tackles.

True. This defense gave up 19 whole points, caused three turnovers, and gave the offense solid field position all game. This loss is clearly on that side of the ball.

This, their line really did play well.

There is a big reason why the Titans are tops in the running game and would be better in the passing game IF they had better receivers. Their o-line is stellar. After Ford got held on the first possession you saw no more pass rush the rest of the game.

Sorenson was rather lazy on that return.

Also Tyreek only scored 1 touchdown..rushing. He's supposed to score at least twice in 2 different ways

Our defense was disappointing today. The injuries have just been too much. They can't stop the run. They never put Marriotta on his back all day. And they gave up the play in the end that setup the field goal kick. So they were definitely partially liable for the loss. But Andy Reid killed any chance of winning today. His worst game of the season by far.

Um...3 turnovers, we turned into 10 points...inside the 10 twice, come away with nothing. You are correct, not much pass rush, but it shouldn't have mattered.

Literally in prevent and we gave up two big gains in the middle. How? When you have two premier pass rushers and two excellent interior DL.

1 minute of football and they got over 40 yards

Total team loss, but leaning heavily to the offense and coaching. D had some great moments, and some horrific ones. Pretty typical game except no defensive or ST points. How many times had this team got a turnover deep in enemy territory and not gotten any points? It's flabbergasting!

FloridaMan88

The defense's inability to generate a pass rush and allowing Tennessee to waltz down the field for the game winning FG was a factor, but overall they did enough to put the Chiefs in a position to win yesterday by forcing three turnovers and making enough stops during the first three quarters of the game.

I don't follow that at all. It doesn't really matter when they gave up the points, they gave them up. 19 allowed at home is a fairly high number, esp on a frigid day like that. The NFL avg is 22, and that includes dome teams, warm weather games, etc etc.

In a game between two fairly pedestrian offenses, in frozen weather, we gave up 19 points at home. Going into yesterday do you think 19 allowed would've won? I'd have said doubtful. Maybe 50-50. They weren't good at all yesterday.

Giving up 19 points in today's NFL is not bad... that means the Chiefs held Tennessee below their season average game of about 24 points per game.

The cold weather itself doesn't necessarily hinder scoring... see the Chicago-Green Bay game yesterday in similar cold conditions that had a 30-27 final score.

Pedestrian offenses? Really? You're talking about the #1 redzone offense in the NFL. One of the top rushing offenses in the NFL....and outside of that Denver game last week....one of the NFL's QBs on a major hot streak.

Prison Bitch

I don't think that's true at all. Yesterday was our 2nd coldest windchill game ever. What does the data (http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/blog/2012/impact-of-cold-weather-on-nfl-totals-with-a-focus-on-playoff-scoring) say about extreme weather?

In 105 games featuring “Extreme Freeze or Snow” (temperature <=15 degrees OR heavy snow OR wind chill <= (-10) degrees) since 1941, scoring decreased by 2.8 ppg and passing yards decreased by 18.7 ypg.

Maybe it's not enough to drive TENN all the way down to 7 points or some low number like that but it's absolutely a negating factor. Look at the kickoffs, how hard it was to kick. It's amazing he nailed that 53-yarder really.

Likewise, if we don't force that fumble as the WR is going into the end zone, and then recover it and then return it to their 40, it's 7-7.

Not giving Hill or Kelce the ball is just inexcusable

Freezing the kick is stupid all together especially after considering the already piss poor weather/field conditions. Now kickers will just kick it anyways after the whistle and it gives them an extra practice kick. In this case it worked out for Succop and make Reid look like a fool.

Chiefs can't run the ball for shit. It's that simple. They haven't for some time now. Today there were multiple times they had to get a yard or 2 and couldn't. And it costed them the game.

Chiefs couldn't stop the run. But the held at times when they had to. When you're at home and hold opposing defense to under 20...you should win that game. Except we have a non running Alex Smith...which means he's gonna always come up short in the passing game and his legs no longer account for the difference, and it leads to many stalled drivers. Cpt Checkdown....King of the 3nOut.

Alex Smith....smh

Andy Reid .....smh

These fucking 2 are like Beavis and Butthead on gameday.

How do you leave a WR this open?
