They can't play the Steelers like they did the Titans because the Steelers running game is 10 times better than the Titans. We need to go up big and stay up to take the running game away.

Santos hits 2 FGs. Chiefs score one on defense or STs, or make a play that sets the offense up to score easily. Alex throws 2 TDs to Maclin and Hill. Pittsburgh starts fast but as the game wears on the Chiefs defense adjusts and allows just 7 in the second half.

I suspect it'll be like the Bama vs Clemson game last night.

Chiefs get up early, dominate on defense....then forget how to play offense and not convert 3rd downs all 2nd half, let Pitt back into the game, then when we actually need the defense, they'll be too exhausted to stop Pitt.

24-20 Pitt.

The Steelers rely on things which can generally be relied upon: a franchise QB and an elite running game.

The Chiefs rely on things which are incredibly unreliable -- special teams, turnovers. If these things happen once again, Chiefs can win the game. But since I'd never predict a team to win based on forcing turnovers vs a first-ballot Hall of Fame franchise QB, I'll go with:

Steelers 27
Chiefs 17

...and seriously hope I'm wrong and we can create those turnovers and huge plays we'd need.

As for weather, I don't know. If it forces the Steelers to run more, that could be a bad thing. Although Big Ben can carve us up, he COULD also make mistakes. Game-changers. If we don't stop Bell -- and we've shown ZERO signs all year we could do that -- how are we ever gonna get off the field?

As others have already posted it and you can see they're not the same team home vs away.

In full disclosure and to be fair, they're still not a great match up for us. We actually match up better against the Pats than Pittsburgh, but it being a home game is a major plus for us. The outcome will rest with holding them to FGs instead of TDs. I seriously doubt they're are going to keep Bell under 150. But, that means nothing big over the top for a TD and limiting Bell on runs of over 15 yards and minimizing his yards after 1st contact. Wrap up!

Coming out aggressive and getting Pittsburgh behind in the score can effectively neuter them from gashing our weak rush D and greatly increase the chances of picking off Ben 1 or 2 times.

Tired of everybody here p*ssing down their legs. Pathetic.

One brutal shitstorm in primetime doesn't determine the outcome of this game. Actually it might, as our players should be more motivated than theirs. History is on the side of teams looking for revenge, especially in front of a raucous crowd.

The two road games that sandwiched that debacle were beatdowns by mediocre teams. Their loss in Philly was equally embarrassing to ours in Pitt. There's no denying that they've been a far better team at home than on the road. Of course Bell will be difficult to contain. They're saying the same about Hill.

Team is rested and as healthy as it's been all year. Andy had 2 weeks to prepare (and likely prepared for Pitt the entire time). Crowd will be amped. Players will be amped. Smith looking to prove himself. Offense seems to have hit its stride. Roethlisberger likely not 100%. There's a lot working in KC's favor here.

Lots of good points here. And thank you for sharing this information.

I'd like to add, KC has the turnover ratio in their favor as well. KC is 1st in the NFL in turnover ratio at +16 compared to Pittsburgh that's 11th in the NFL in turnover ratio at +5.

I think it's gonna come down to this. Whoever wins the turnover battle will win the game. I'm only saying this because I believe that stat alone expresses the most significance in terms of winning football games.

BigRape is #10 in total QB rating at 66.5, Smith is #11 at 66.1...interesting.

Steelers averaged about 1/2 a point more per game this season...yet KC had the 4th toughest schedule and Pittsburgh had the 27th. People are acting like they are SO much more dangerous than KC. Chiefs beat Atlanta in their house and they were the 8th best offense in NFL history.

They are more media hype than world beaters...their most impressive road win, in the last half of the season was at Indy w/o Luck...28-7. They are not a great road team...at all.

Not a prediction, but I want one of two things to happen. I want to either win, or to get embarrassed with Smith throwing multiple picks. If we can't advance in the playoffs (and I hope we can), I would hope that Smith is embarrassing enough to finally motivate some action in the draft at QB.

Ben Roethlisberger home/road over the last 3 years:

Chiefs will have to score 30 plus to win, from where I'm sitting.

Maybe you should find somewhere else to sit.

Nothing, and totally serious about it.

I think he has a monster game

I do too. Andy off a bye and Alex in the playoffs. Deadly.

I think KC is going to punch them in the f@cking mouth....like I've said for a few weeks, this is going to be a hard hitting, physical game.

Knowing the Chiefs he'll have one Sunday.

Lots of black and Steelers win. Santos has a chance to win it but misses his 3rd field goal of the day.

The last playoff game won at Arrowhead was 8 Jan 1994, against...

Pittsburgh, 27-24 in OT.

Waaay too many heartbreaks since then, and it's time to break this 23-year old curse.

As decent as the Steelers are, I think we win this one handily. Between the extra rest, motivation, Pitts road issues, and the fact that we are a damn good team I see us with a 2+ possession lead most of the game. We pull our starters in the fourth and they score a garbage TD to make the score look closer than the game was.

31-17 Chiefs. Somewhat rested after a well-controlled game and ready for the trip to Foxboro...

The weather conditions are terrible for the Chiefs and their finesse offense vs the Steelers elite rushing attack.

Also, if it's going to be a wet field, it's going to be hard for either team to get a pass rush, and the Steelers can take advantage of that more than we can, especially since Ben is maybe the best bad-weather QB in the NFL.

If the Chiefs can get a huge-game changing play out of Hill I think they'll win, but my gut says Steelers 24, Chiefs 17.

I would rather watch KCWOLF and OWEN HART in a Zipline race than watch Alex Smith in the playoffs.

Coming out aggressive and getting Pittsburgh behind in the score can effectively neuter them from gashing our weak rush D and greatly increase the chances of picking off Ben 1 or 2 times.

If KC were to win the coin toss, would you elect to receive?

Fuck no. You put your defense on the field and let them make a statement. Plus you want that ball to start the 2nd half.

Chiefs D will send a message to the rest of the NFL. This is the best D in the NFL and we here to stay!

The Steelers are second in the NFL in red-zone efficiency in home games and they’re 27th on the road. That's bottom five territory....

That..coupled with the stats you posted, is a pretty stark difference. BigRape sounds bi-polar....2/3 of his TDs come at home. That's a large sample size too...3 seasons.

Agreed. KC has the #1 ranking in takeaways.. and my guess is that the KC offense is probably one of the better teams on drives to open the 3rd quarter.

I'm looking for a Denver repeat, with a 36-14 score, 1st and goal in the final minutes..Dontari floats one to Conley in the back of the end zone.

If KC were to win the coin toss, would you elect to receive?

Never. One, you want to try and dictate field position from the outset in getting them to punt and flipping the field to give you a better starting position. Second, the 2nd half is more important. You've had a chance to see how they've gameplanned throughout the 1st half and can come out after halftime with adjustments to better attack on offense and adjust on defense. Having 1st possession in the 2nd half means you'll have a much higher likelihood of getting more possessions than they will in the 2nd half, and since the end of the 4th quarter matters significantly more than the end of the 2nd quarter, you want to maximize your opportunities when there are more valuable and at a time when your strategy is better dictated by taking into account the time remaining in regulation. There are a few more reasons why logically and from a strategy standpoint you want the ball on offense to start the 2nd half, but the above is more than enough to justify why you shouldn't deviate from this outside rare rare circumstances.
