I was kind of worried that I wouldn't find five cities for a while. The $900-$999k range isn't strongly represented in the state of cornhusking, especially in the western part. But by the grace of Tom Osborne, I eventually had success, so here are your five houses.
Bellwood - http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/4381-H-Rd_Bellwood_NE_68624_M71872-45560
Lincoln - http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/9585-NW-40th-St_Lincoln_NE_68524_M82821-66610
Norfolk - http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/5705-W-Nucor-Rd_Norfolk_NE_68701_M75523-73473
Omaha - http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/17059-Pasadena-Ct_Omaha_NE_68130_M80895-09730

My rankings:
Omaha - Winner winner dean steinkuhler dinner. This is a really cool house and it's a reasonable walking distance to a lot of dining and shopping. Plus, it's really close to a nice trail for running. I could easily live here and like it.
Norfolk - The house is nice, but not really distinctive. It's not really near any services, either. But I like the basement bar and it's got acreage, so it does okay in this heat. I don't need to live here, but I could.
Bellwood - The house is okay, not spectacular, but I'm intrigued by its connection to some movie I've never heard of. I like the bunkhouse and extra cottage as a place to house guests, and the land looks nice. I like trees and rivers. But someone enlighten me; do you have to mow that big area or is it naturally short? That would be a lot of mowing. It's not overly far from town and restaurants, though you're not walking anywhere.
Unadilla - The house has nice land holdings, but it's not a particularly large or fancy house and it's not near any services. Pass.
Lincoln - The house has nice land holdings, but I'm not wowed by the house and it's not near any services. Pass.

Shame you couldn't find anything out by Ft. Robinson. That's the only part of this shithole state that looks decent.

I was surprised that I didn't really hate any of these houses. A couple needed updates/upgrades, but not bad. And whichever house had the To Wong Foo lifesize cutout, they would have to leave it with the house or drop the price 5 grand, lol.
If I had a gun to my head, I'd take the Omaha house. Nebraska's winters suck, but if a guy like Bugeater can make it......
I figure these would be very popular with our resident hunters/fishermen/outdoorsmen

It's amazing what your money buys in a state like Nebraska.
I've also heard Omaha is a pretty nice city and I dig that house.

Definitely Bellwood, according to the link. But it's suburban Bellwood, not the middle of town.

The Lincoln place no doubt. I'd let the Mrs have the house and I'd live in the out building.

Bellwood. Small town, spacious home, and lots of acreage for horses.
