http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/10/chicago-father-son-shoot-each-other-after-arguing-about-walking-dog-police-say.html

Not surprisingly this happened in Chicago.

A son is dead and his father seriously injured after they shot each other during an argument over walking the dog.

Chicago Police said the shooting happened in the city's South-Side Burnside neighborhood on Sunday morning.

Donald Johnson, 22, was shot multiple times and died. His father, who is 43, was also shot multiple times. The father was hospitalized in fair condition on Sunday night.

Neighbors and community activists were frustrated.

"How did we get here? How did we get to the point where 'I hate my blood family enough to take his life'? It makes no sense," said community activist Ja'mal Green.

Green said that there is so much pain in Chicago's troubled neighborhoods that even the most trivial interactions can explode.

Crazy town, Chicago. A Cook County judge got greased this morning. I guess they're thinking robbery gone bad, but he worked criminal court and had been involved with some big cases, including Jennifer Hudson's family and the Brown's Chicken massacre.

Sounds like it was a robbery. Woman (judge's girlfriend, I assume) went outside and was shot first while he was still inside. He heard the shot and went outside and confronted the guy, who shot him multiple times. Sounds like the lady's going to make it, but the judge was DOA.

And that's why you carry a gun, kids.

We had a judge shot (not killed though) in Austin a year and a half ago:

Honestly I would expect something like this in Chicago long before Austin.

Three indicted for this attempted murder:

Is it true that judges get to carry guns around all the time, even in courtrooms?

I honestly have no idea - outside of a handful of traffic court appearances, the last judge I had any regular interaction with was a Navy captain, and that was nearly 30 years ago. And if Judge Z carried, I never saw it. :D

I do kind of doubt it, though, this being Chicago and all, but then again, judges are part of the in crowd, and little people laws don't apply to them.

I'd say its fairly obvious this judge wasn't packing at the time, though. If I hear a gunshot and my wife screaming, I'm going out ready to roll.

Your post has reminded me of the judge Jack Warden played in And Justice For All. He certainly carried.

But Cub fans are far more annoying. Especially since last year. :#

Yeah. I don't know why but I have it stuck in my head that judges are one of the few people allowed to carry in a court room. And same here about this particular situation. I don't think I would live in a big city without going around armed. I'm regularly polite enough to avoid trouble and I also tend to work through situations that could end in violent confrontations. But I'll kill a guy with no hesitation if I have to and I'd rather be prepared to do so in a place like Chicago.

Yeah, in a city of 2.7 million people, there was exactly one instance of two people having a gunfight over who's going to walk the dog.

I don't see this as a growing trend. :D

I have gotten so used to having mine everywhere I go, I always feel a little bit vulnerable when I don't have it. I'm too old to fight and I really don't see myself being the person who gets robbed without some resistance.
