UnFKNbelievable. Still 45 states who do not require a background check? That's just stupid.

And if they do the checks, they never follow up with public record or social media.

Your online personality is pretty important when you are dealing with kids.

Worse part about it "Today I’m coming forward to reclaim this narrative and call attention to school administrators who pass the trash,’ placing reputation and convenience above their duty to protect children.”

When I was in high school we had a coach/teacher get a junior girl pregnant. It wasn’t the first one he hooked up with but the first one he got pregnant. The board let him go and it was very hush hush. No newspapers, TV news or police got involved.

The very next year he is coaching/teaching at another high school in the same stinking county. This was southeast Kansas mind you. There aren’t exactly tons of school districts per county. I don’t know how they do it or how the hiring process doesn’t at least attempt to weed these pervs out but this happens more than anyone knows or cares to admit.

There is no tracking system for them. I have spent over $200K and 2 years building a system that has a patent pending API system with it to keep tabs on these guys.

They cant even hide behind social media anymore.

This is disgusting. Teachers that do this should be beaten.

Why some of this happens is because of 'privacy laws' It protects the accused.
Tenured Teachers have to go through due process to be fired. If they do something like this-firing them is not that difficult to do. At that point-their license should is surrendered by the state. At that point, no one else will hire them-even in another state. It is easy to see when a license has been surrendered.

But, if there are is no process. These scum leave. The old employer can't say "Hey, you know that teacher is a child molester?" Bam-screwed by privacy. Same is true for someone that has a drinking problem etc. It allows the district to pass the buck. It is not right. But it happens.

States do background checks for licensing when someone moves into a state. Districts do not have the budget for that. Especially when it takes a lot of time and some positions need to be filled in hours. Again. Not fair or right.

Having another tool for schools may be the way to go. Again-watch that privacy issue. Although anything on the internet is not private.

This is the problem as well as most of these instances are not brought to the police. The kids and families for the most part just want the guy/girl to go away and do not want a court case when there is not much more than a he said/she said for evidence.

When that happens the family asks for the person to be let go and they are allowed to resign and leave. Most of the time it would be against the law for a school district to tell another that it happened since there was not a court case and no evidence other than a student accusing them.

Believe it or not ive seen people who I actually believe did not do anything get accused and be forced to leave because a student didn't like the teacher. (Again no I don't have proof of this but its my opinion after talking to friends of the girl who said she made it up) There needs to be an actual court case before you can start denying people the right to work.

It sucks because I wish these pervs would get out of my profession and stop screwing it up for the rest of us.
