Royals have destroyed Shoemaker in his four starts against them. Let's see them continue that tonight.

Karns didn't have control in the first, hopefully he gets it under control in the later innings. Offense has to light Shoemaker up, I think the key is to be patient.

I just hope it's not us. I'll love him forever, but he's clearly not working hard enough to change his approach. This is who he is and who he is, is not good enough.

He hasn't done much to fix his flaws since his rookie year, and as he ages he's going to lose the athleticism that has allowed him to mask them.

I think the only thing that will inspire him to change his swing and play disciplined defense is going to a big market and having a big market media LAMBASTE him if he struggles in his first year. He is a hero in KC and has received a pass since 2014. That's not going to be the case if he ends up in LA.

But hey, maybe some more batting practice with his brother and extending his swing will fix that the fact he has one of the highest groundball rates in the league.

His velocity is up, but his control wasn't great tonight. A lot of his strikes caught way too much of the plate.

Win tomorrow gets us back to .500. This rotation looks good. The bullpen can be good if Strahm figures it out. The offense has potential, but we need more guys on base for our power guys.

For who? Esky? (who's hitting worse) Hos? (who's hitting worse) Mondesi? (who's hitting FAR worse). I could see an argument for Cain, but with him being one of the few righties we have who hits for power, it seems like a waste to put him at the leadoff.

Let's let these guys gel and find out where they are in Mid-May. It's too early for any major shufflings just yet.
