I made a pretty substantial effort to stay away from gamethreads in 2014 and 2015. I had a lot of optimism about both of those squads and the perpetual negativity (especially in September 2015) got on me. I think this is why I've been surprised by some of the "live or die" takes in the GDT's in 16&17.

Now that I'm here, I'm pretty amazed that someone would be willing to boot an established reliever off the roster because of 2.2 bad innings in 2017, but is willing to promote someone to leadoff after 34 minor league AB's in the same season.

I was the biggest Cool Whit homer in 2016 and legitimately hope he becomes a stud #1. BSR is right, Moose and Cain became studs, but in his scenario, we'd be putting Moose at leadoff in 2014. The terrible Royals' teams cultivated me to be an inherent skeptic of outliers, but I hope him and BSRoyals get to rub my face in it at the end of the year.

He hits the ball hard but for whatever reason just can't lift it consistently. On the radio they said a ball he hit to second a few days ago was the hardest hit ball in the majors so far this season.
