Do you think there is any reason to look at a pitchers splits from just this year alone? Most pitchers have 30-40 ip only. It's not statistically relevant yet IMO. Santiago in the last 3 years is .235 avg, .664 ops vs lefties...compared to .240 vs righties and .758 ops. So the opposite is actually true.

If it were nerves he'd have shut down then. Plus, the dude was lights out in that role for the Summer of 16. I always thought Jason Fraser may have struggled with that sort of thing. If I had to guess, Herrera may either be tipping his pitches again (ala 2013) or hurt (like he seemed to be at the end of 16.
