Tiger had problems with infidelity before his dad died. His dad had those same problems. He once told John Feinstein about the cooking ability of some woman he was fucking by saying that she, "kept the chip bowl refilled well."

I really do feel bad for Tiger. He loved his dad, but his father was a deeply flawed person. He pushed his kid at golf to a level that was unhealthy, and it made his child imbalanced. Tiger always would have been a great golfer without his dad. The military training didn't add clubhead speed, touch, or make his hands better.

Still, he has reached the point in his life where he should be able to self actualize and begin to work on his flaws. It seems like he really is trying to be a better dad and more attentive to his kids. I hope he succeeds.

Driving impaired is a no bueno.

It is no bueno [as the cool fellow kids call it these days]. The problem is;

you're impaired, and
you're not at home.
So your brain is trying to figure out how to get home at the same time as it's analytical skills are impaired.

The conundrum tightens up pretty quickly if other people are harmed, but until then you have a situation of a person making a bad decision because his decision-making faculties are impaired.

So you stigmatize, you educate, you make a lot of noise, you give stern talks and think up easy to recall alternatives [ALL right and proper]. But in the moment it's tough in a legal system where so much is predicated on your state of mind to be harsh towards someone whose state of mind is not functioning properly.

I've never driven drunk. I'm sure I've been somewhat buzzed, but NEVER drunk. I can still remember the MADD women coming to our HS and showing us the videos of accidents and interviews of families who lost loved ones to this. And I never forgot it

I've also never raped a woman or used any drug. These are all choices we make. "Oh you're just holier than thou!"

I've never raped a woman either and I don't understand why this is being brought up when compared to getting a DUI. Completely different crimes that are not even comparable.

That's good that you have never driven drunk and I commend you for that but I don't think that makes you any better of a person than someone who makes a mistake of driving drunk and gets DUI and never does it again.

People make mistakes. Now if you get a second or third DUI that's a different story.

Maybe it is just me but I don't think this is a big deal. It happens. If it was his 3rd then I'd be like whoaaa but one DUI is not a big deal to me. It's not like the guy won't be able to afford the fine he is going to get or not be able to hire drivers to drive him around if his license is suspended.

Hopefully he learns from his mistake and it doesn't happen again.

Agreed. Looks like he may not have even been drinking at all but even if he was it happens every day. Over this weekend I witnessed many, many people party then go drive home. We are a country that drinks and drives no matter how much it's known to be dangerous.

Maybe a good analogy is getting a girlfriend unintentionally preggers. I suppose one time it could happen to any man, but we tend to look at those dudes as foolish or irresponsible even tho we all screwed women too. Sometimes when we were drunk, even.

His back has been messed up for years - he's had multiple surgeries on it. It's why he can't get back into golf and why he starts and then drops out of tournaments all the time.

I actually think it was weight lifting combined with the torque of a golf swing that set it off.

Tiger Woods was asleep at wheel, had 'slurred' speech during DUI arrest, report shows
By Katherine Lam Published May 30, 2017 Fox News

Tiger Woods was asleep at the wheel when Florida police encountered the golfer and ultimately arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence, a police report released on Tuesday revealed.

Woods was alone in his 2015 black Mercedes-Benz when police approached his parked car about 3 a.m. Monday in Jupiter, according to the police report that Fox News obtained on Tuesday. The car was still running at the time.

Woods had "extremely slow and slurred, mumbled" speech and was "sluggish, sleepy [and] unable to walk alone" at the scene, according to the report. He told officers that he took several prescriptions and was unsure of where he was at the time.

The Breathalyzer and urine tests showed no alcohol was in his system, but Woods had trouble walking a straight line during the field sobriety test, the report stated. During the "walk and turn" test, Woods "could not maintain starting position" and "missed heel to toe each time." Officers also said there was no odor detected on the golfer.

Hours after news broke of his arrest Monday, Woods addressed the incident, saying "alcohol was not involved."

The golfer was booked into Palm Beach County jail about 7 a.m. under his birth name, Eldrick Woods, records showed.

Woods, 41, also was cited for improper stopping, standing or parking in an illegal space. He spent nearly four hours in jail before he was released on his own recognizance.

There is a difference between a DUI and a DWI. A DUI can come from just about anything, anti-depressants, allergy meds, pain mets, or anything that can IMPAIR your driving. Given his recent medical history, I wouldn't be surprised if he got addicted to pain meds. It happened to Brett Favre. (http://www.nytimes.com/1996/05/15/sports/pro-football-favre-says-he-abused-painkillers-and-will-enter-treatment-center.html) (except maybe for the DUI part).

Tiger really put a lot of torque on his midsection in his swing, and a lot of pressure on the knee that he screwed up too. Jack Nicklaus did too, to a lesser extent (he had back problems, but not as severe as Tiger's).

Doesn't mean you still can't get a DUI. Driving Under the Influence can be given if the officer thinks you are influenced by whatever you took. prescription medicine, weed, coke, any other substances. But, you can't really test for it so it's a judgement call from the police officer. That is usual in your favor, and if he chooses to fight it he may have a chance to beat it. However, he's already admitted publicly that he had taken medication, it did not agree with him, and made him drowsy. Him falling asleep as a result probably doesn't bode too well for him.

Law here is not set in stone. I've heard plenty of stories of guys blowing .02 after something like a beer, but getting arrested due to the cops "discretion" of impaired driving. That's how to law reads. AZ is a tough state for DUI and many times it's not really fair. It is not worth drinking even a small amount and driving here. I think that's what AZ was going for and it's sure as shit scared me from getting behind the wheel even after a few beers.

Who DOESN'T have a DUI?

I don't. But that's not to say I wasn't an idiot in college.

Here's a funny story. When I was in Sidney it was October and I was headed back to Kansas in November. So I get the letter that I had jury duty. Ugh.

So I talk to some folks at the office. Everybody said no problem. They'll roll like 75 people in and pick 12. And most cases get dismissed before anyway. You'll be fine.

So I show up. Blah blah blah. Jury selection. Blah blah blah. Civic duty. Blah blah blah.

In rolls the defense attorney. "Alright. Thanks for showing up. So, who's had a DUI?" 2/3 of the people raise their hands. FUCK!!!!

Turns out I got selected.

God it was horrible. The prosecution primarily used the police video. Well. The field sobriety tests were mostly off camera and the body mic wasn't working. So we sat for 2 hours in silence looking at the flashing lights in the back window and later the police station.

After it was over they told us the shit that wasn't admissible. Little bitch was an epic douche and was trying not to get kicked out of the army. We didn't tag him with DUI but there was enough for an MIC (they pulled beer out on the video) so he probably got fucked.

That is the only benefit ever for not getting a DUI.

You're nothing more than pocket padding income and a notch on their revolver pretty much either way when it comes to DUI but visitors especially vulnerable. They don't know their way around as well and when caught it's a pretty good chance their just going to plead guilty instead of going through the trouble of fighting a case in bum fuck nowhere. The travel back and forth wouldn't be worth the cost.</br></br>Just a random thought after reading the AZ DUI enforcement situation.

This is true, at least here. If you are going to do that, ditch your keys out of the car. They call it intent. Although the assholes probably have something else in place to hang you anyway.

Definitely. Steer clear of cops if at all possible.

Those dickheads will hit you with DUI even if you blow 0.00.

Vicodin? Why the fuck is he driving? Can he not afford round the clock car service? That's always amazed me. When a pro athlete or movie star gets a DUI. I'd be designated driver just for the girls and the experience of what it's like to be famous. It's dumb.

Was Vicodin confirmed? Didn't he also admit to having an addiction to Ambien years ago? Pretty sure he did.

I've heard that Ambien can fuck you up pretty badly by causing long bouts of sleep walking etc.

Jenkins brought that up earlier and yeah, that would explain a lot.
Vicodin on it's own isn't shit if you have half a tolerance.

If only he had turned off the car. I was told big difference between passed out in stopped vehicle and passed out in a running one.

Laws probably vary, but that would be bad advice here in Denver. Here, if you're in the car with the keys, it's DUI. Homeless drunks who live in their cars here often have multiple DUIs because their bedroom is a vehicle.

I'll be damned if I know how they handle a drunk guy sleeping in an RV. Seems different, but perhaps not.
