Five deaths now, all seemingly related. The FBI is involved. Local police continue to say there is "zero evidence" this is a serial killer at work.

http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article153222354.html

Kansas City police have released the name of a man found killed in a wooded area near a walking and biking trail in Kansas City Monday morning, ten days after news broke that four homicides near a separate trail system shared similarities.

Police identified the man as 31-year-old Chase Hardin.

Since August, four white males between the ages of 54 and 67 have been found killed on or near the Indian Creek and Blue River trails, in an area roughly between 95th and 110th streets. Three of the four were walking their dogs. The FBI has joined the investigations into those deaths.

Mike Darby, the most recent among the four victims, was killed May 18. The 61-year-old co-owner of Coach’s Bar & Grill was found slain on the Indian Creek Trail. He’d been walking his two dogs.

The other victims were:

John W. Palmer, 54, found killed Aug. 19 near East Bannister Road and Lydia Avenue. Palmer was found in a wooded area. Police have not said how he died.

David Lenox, 67, found killed Feb. 27 in the 9900 block of Walnut Street. Lenox was shot just a few steps away from his front door while walking one of his dogs.

Timothy S. Rice, 57, of Excelsior Springs, found dead April 4 inside a shelter at Minor Park, near East Red Bridge Road and 110th Street.

That fact that individuals walking dogs are killed may mean that they are easier targets because, with a dog, the person walking the dog would stop intermittently while the dog stops. Once the person stops, possibly, this is a fixed target opportunity for a shooter.

If the shooter is shooting from a distance, my guess would be a shot from a rifle from, possibly, a vehicle because it would be less likely that the person would move about with a rifle in the open. I have no idea and this is all conjecture, but possibly a case where someone pulls in and parks and waits.

There is. Property values stagger downward sharply when you cross Holmes.

These murders weren't on the bad part of town (except maybe #5), but I consider them all to be in the "neutral zone," that gray area where things are starting to get a little shadier but aren't really that bad yet.

If this really is a serial killer, based on his pattern of hitting parks I would expect the next murder to be in Holmes Park or Dunn Park, which are slightly north and east of Tower Park.

I bet if we all work together, we can solve this mystery. What are the facts that we know so far?

1. At least four dead people.
2. The dead people are all middle-aged white guys, some with dogs.
3. The deaths were on or near trails in the Kansas City area.
4. Some or all were shootings.

By process of elimination, we can eliminate all people in other countries who have never ridden a plane. That cuts out approximately 6.5 billion of the 7.5 billion people, so we've already knocked out 85 percent of possible suspects. Let's keep going.

Kansas City police have released the name of a man found killed in a wooded area near a walking and biking trail in Kansas City Monday morning, ten days after news broke that four homicides near a separate trail system shared similarities.

Well, that does seem to present a pattern.

Suspects include all women, BLM, and possible closeted homosexuals exposed to a traumatic childhood.

Or in short, Liberals...

Mike Darby, the most recent among the four victims, was killed May 18. The 61-year-old co-owner of Coach’s Bar & Grill was found slain on the Indian Creek Trail. He’d been walking his two dogs.

This dog thing keeps coming up.

Why would any serial killer attack a victim with dogs? Wouldn't that expose them to unnecessary risk?

Someone earlier in the thread (maybe gochiefs) suggested that it could be because dog walkers stop occasionally while their dogs sniff at stuff or do their business. This gives a sniper a stationary target. Seems like a good theory to me.

I swear it is not me.

There's one less suspect and your list is getting smaller.

I don't know if you can take yourself out of the suspect pool like that.

That actually may move a person up on the suspect list. What was dartgod's motive in saying this? Where was he on the nights of the murders? Is dartgod a cat?

Can you imagine how big of a racism news story the major networks would make of this if it were white on black serial killings? That's why.
