Thursday June 29 marks 34 years since the passing of Joe Delaney. Lest we think he has been forgotten here are 3 awesome articles showing not only has he not been forgotten but is still honored for the hero and role model he truly was.

The irony of the timing of this and how much life has humbled me this week are something else.

Wow, I did not know about the matching funds and the improvements that they are going to be making at the park. That is awesome! Thanks for sharing

He had breakaway speed like Charles or Tyreek Hill once he hit the hole. He was gone like a flash. Died a hero.

I barely remember him (that was before I really got into football--I was only 12 then), but I remember his death and thinking how heroic he was.

Sadly he played during a time when the Chiefs were rarely on TV and there was no way to get the games on TV back in New Jersey.

I really missed most of his highlights and had to only catch them with ESPN.

Can't believe it's almost 30 years ago!

Just another sad story of the fate of the Chiefs.......

hero

The word hero gets overused quite a bit but this guy truly was a hero.

This coming Friday marks 35 years since Joe Delaney's death. The Joe Delaney Memorial Park is really coming along with the opening of a splash pad. Pavilions and benches are the next project.
