Someone needs to explain to Tamba that, while it's been fun, he wasn't very effective last year. If Tamba is starting this season then picking up the 5th year option on Ford was a mistake.

It's now or never for Ford.

He went off, and actually asked if he was needed in KC anymore in his most recent tweet. The dude has been sitting on that one.

He's right. Seven snaps in that game was ridiculous, especially when he dominated Pittsburgh's OL in 2015.

It's not the fact that they are tweets. It's what the tweets represent.

They show a potential crack in the foundation, which was already seen when the Dorsey/Maclin events took place. Tamba is clearly frustrated with Berry, Houston, and Peters. He's probably not the only one. The guys in the locker room probably don't love the fact that 3 of their best players didn't sweat and sacrifice by their side during the offseason.

They'll get it over it when they're sweating and sacrificing together when the REAL work gets put in at training camp.

Please, continue to act like this is the first sign of dysfunction this offseason for the Chiefs...

The ONLY sign of "dysfunction" was firing Dorsey.

And if that removed any "dysfunction" from the front office (which apparently, it did) then good riddance.

I don't see how the owner firing the GM he couldn't stand is negative. If anything, it should be a positive, especially based on every article written about the situation in which Dorsey was described as a "Lone Wolf" that made decisions on his own without sharing with the owner, coaching staff and front office staffers.

If 33 year old Tamba Hali wants to have a Twitter breakdown, complaining about playing time, that's on Tamba Hali.

That's not on the offensive line, wide receivers, safeties, defensive lineman, running backs or coaching staff.

I also think it's very likely that everyone on the 53 knew where he stood at the end of the season.

I don't understand why the Chiefs, with $11 million in cap space after signing all of their draft choices, would ask him to take a pay cut from his $8 million dollar salary this upcoming season.

Even if he was asked, why throw a tantrum, especially after being paid more than $100 million dollars by the franchise?

If he was asked to cut his salary in half, like DJ agreed to this offseason, but allowed him to earn it back through incentives, why would he throw a Twitter fit?

Camp will come, they'll focus on THEIR job, not worry about wtf Maclin is doing. They'll be getting bitched at by the coaches and trying to win a starting job. Dorsey is gone? It's the front office people who have to deal with that mostly. I doubt very many players are overly attached to Dorsey.

If they did cut him, they'd take an $8 million dollar cap charge, leaving them with less than $3 million to begin the season.

If they had any significant injuries, that would greatly inhibit signing guys to even an Vet Minimum contract.

I think the better play would be to get on the phone with one of the teams I mentioned earlier that have an enormous amount of cap space and offer up a Conditional trade, even if it's a 7th.

Cutting him could really screw up the season.

As a longtime Chiefs fan, I've enjoyed watching your career from the time you were drafted up until now in the twilight of your football days. Well, you're just speculating.

It was no secret that when Sean McDermott, a former associate of Reid's, was hired as head coach, that he alone would be running the draft.

Who gives a shit about two and three seasons ago?

He's declined significantly in the last year+. Not the same player, and certainly not worth $8M.

If was definitely a stupid contract.

First, Dorsey takes a completely unnecessary $4 million dollar cap hit for Hali, then turns around and gives him $12 million in guarantees on a 3 year, $21 million dollar deal.

And people wonder why Dorsey was fired.

Tamba has the third most the past 3 years. Ford had one good year.

One is ascending and the other descending. No brainer here. Pressures are nice and all but sacks are game changers. There tons of guys out there who can ALMOST get to the qb.
