It doesn't, but neither does getting first team snaps in training camp practices.

10 bucks says he doesn't even play in the 1st quarter in the first preseason game

Gaines went down with a groin injury simply looking at the depth chart.

He might play half of the third quarter and fourth. Smitty probably plays the first and Bray plays second and half of third

Gaines has proven unreliable due to injuries, i don't think we can afford to have a roster spot wasted at CB again through injury.

Gaines I can agree with.

However Nelson is a fantastic slot corner.

Mitchell (when healthy) should be playing #2CB opposite of Peters.

I love their pronunciation guide of "Dadi."

Direckshun
08-06-2017, 05:22 PM
That said, this is straight up hooky-dooks.

DJ was out today, and they started Eligwe -- the alleged third-string SILB in his spot.

Kareem Hunt will not be behind West in any shape or form. At this point Spiller could very well end up being our 3rd RB if he's willing to play special teams.

Direckshun
08-06-2017, 05:22 PM
They have Chesson on 4th string right now.

Anybody believe they could bet on Chesson to clear waivers, after trading up to get him?

Kind of surprised they have Marcus Kemp at 2nd string. Anybody seen him play want to verify? He did not stand out when I was at camp yesterday.

Kemp is fifth string not second

He's more proven than Conley

Direckshun

Robinson and March right where they should be.

Legit shocked that Robinson is anywhere other than 4th string.

He has good hands, but he just didn't get separation yesterday. I'd take Chesson over him, given the choice.

Heck, I'd take any of this fellow 3rd stringers over him. Seantavius Jones, Tevin Jones, and Gehrig Dieter all outplayed him.

Granted, it was one practice in the rain, but c'mon.

Who knew we had another Charles in the backfield? I typically try to adopt the most unheard of player each year, so I'm taking Orson under my wing.

Last year for the record I took Seantavius and everyone thought it was a joke. Look what I did with him.

Conley is the wideout opposite Hill.

Between Albert, Chesson, Robinson, DAT and Jones....we need at least two to pan out as complementary receivers for a successful season.

Do you have any ability to see things in the middle of the spectrum or is everybody either amazing or horrible?

Cutting Nelson would be silly. Can't imagine many teams where he wouldn't make the team.

Rookies being behind veterans or vice versus doesn't indicate anything when it comes to the first released depth chart. Standard protocol, whatever. However, what does stick out to me is when I see certain rookies ahead or behind other rookies that I didn't expect them to be ahead or behind of.

Alex Smith is our QB. You are not going to get tons of yards from WRs when your QB is Alex Smith, especially that a bunch of our passing yards will go to the TEs.

I hope they can show improvement but that is not really what will make or break our season.

This being said, I hope at least one of them can eventually blossom into a top WR for when Mahomes will be our starting QB.

Either the Cowboys cut him last year, or he was on their PS. Either way, we snatched him up.

He only provided special teams snaps last year.

I agree, but the Chiefs simply aren't letting him return kicks for whatever reason. Look at that depth chart.

Toub has already stated that DAT is the "toughest guy on the team". West is in no way, shape or form "on the bubble".

The Chiefs aren't going to keep a 30 year old running back with 12 career rushing TD's, that's broken down and beaten, over young players.

Jah Reid and Zach Fulton on 2nd team in camp. Was this expected?

Pretty much, as they've both been 2nd teamers to start the season in both 2015 & 2016.

Direckshun

Reid may not even make the team.

I suspect he will -- he looked pretty good at camp.

I believe he was on the field for Dontari's touchdown pass as well. He was key in producing a lineup that averaged over 300 pounds.

Jah Reid and Zach Fulton on 2nd team in camp. Was this expected?

I would think.

I know many disagree but I think Fulton's greatest value is as a b/u C.

When he played at G at times he was a mauler in the running game, at times he was average, and at times he was horrible in pass pro. At C he was pretty solid for the most part...

Yeah, hard to judge anything this early.

The only thing really jumping out at me is how good our front 7 on D look.

On paper. They all have to stay healthy...

Take this for what it is worth.
I talked to my money manager and he said his son, Taylor Russolino, was called for a try out with the Chiefs. His son is a kicker and he said that Santos has a groin injury. Taylor also has a tryout with the Rams.
