Game Console for Fitness?

My Wife is wanting to get into some exercising at home and thought about getting a game console for games and such for fitness.

I know nothing about gaming consoles. I thought the Xbox would be best because of the Kinect but it looks like they are doing away with that and I saw the shut down the fitness stuff.

The PS4 doesn't seem to offer much either but I read you can stream PS3 games that have a bunch of fitness stuff and use the Move Sensors. Possibility there???

The Wii? Please don't tell me the ****ing Wii is what I have to buy.

Either a Wii which is cheap, or I would anticipate the switch getting some titles. ARMS definitely makes me tired

Xbox Kinect has some good stuff. Better than Wii.

How much cash do you have to throw down, and what's your level of technical expertise? If you can swing it, the HTC Vive (a virtual reality headset) has some titles that are not only fun but genuine, soreness-inducing workouts.
