Going to try to bring some much needed good fortune the Royals way.

Did this last year and it worked so let's go back to back!

It's my birthday today!

August 26 has been a very magical day historically for the Royals.

Last Royals no hitter thrown?

August 26, 1991 (Sabes no hitting the Chi Sux)

Brett's peak in the 1980 season?

.407 when he went 5-5 at Milwaukee

Alex Gordon's walk off HR against Geoff Perkins to down the Twinkies?

That was on August 26, 2014

I could go on and on. They had a stretch where they won THIRTEEN straight years on my birthday!

So I gotta feeling and a good feeling we are winning tonight and August 26, 2017 WILL be the night Moose catches Balboni and why not, BREAKS THE DAMN RECORD!!!

Who's with me?

Lineup tonight is here...

And just like that, Hammel blows the game.

This team isn't making the playoffs.

That's amazing. Hammel is a complete beast from innings 1-5. He's so efficient too. Then bam. 6th inning.

Al Bundy
08-26-2017, 06:59 PM
Not surprising, when your offense is actively trying to not get hits with the bases loaded.

It doesn't take rocket science to figure out that Hammel can't pitch past the 5th. Somehow Ned hasn't figured that out, though.

Why is Gordon still starting everyday when Ned said he wasn't going to a few weeks ago?

Why Not?
08-26-2017, 07:10 PM
Bahahaha. God damn, the delusion most of us were under a month ago when we thought the Royals belonged on the same field as Cleveland.

He was throwing a perfect game. You just can't take him out there.

He has to be one of the hardest pitchers to manage. A lot of guys struggle later in games, but it's not like Hammel slogs his way into the 6th. He seems to always pitch great the first five innings. Looks sharp, few runs, really low pitch count. Most managers just aren't going to take a starter out in the 6th when he's cruising and only at 50-60 pitches. You almost have to do it with Hammel. It's just not normal.

This one was over the moment Hosmer took 3 straight strikes and Escobar didn't really try to get a hit with the bases loaded.

Ned.. it doesn't matter now. Your "offense" has decided to take a break from playing.

Perhaps having automatic out Alex and Cuthbert in the lineup isn't the best idea.

Al Bundy
08-26-2017, 07:47 PM
If you go 25 innings without scoring, you are quite honestly not trying at all.

Offense is dead right now. Doesn't help that our catcher hurts his side every time he swings, and our power hitting 3B has a knee problem.

It amazes me that you continue to make ridiculous posts like this.

I'm sure Esky really didn't try. I'm sure he walked to plate and said "fuck it, I'm not even going to try to get a hit".

I'm sure that's how it went down.

You are easily the dumbest son of a bitch posting in Royals threads and that's saying something with penbrook around.
