Looks like the NFL is going to inject “sexy back” into the Super Bowl.

Us Weekly reported on Wednesday that multi-platinum pop/R&B artist, Justin Timberlake, is finalizing a deal to healdline the Super Bowl LII halftime show at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The 10-time Grammy Award-winner is currently working on his fifth solo studio album, which could be released around the time of his slated Super Bowl performance on February 4. Timberlake would receive a massive boost in promoting his new album indeed should the deal with the NFL fall through.

This wouldn’t be the first time that the 36-year-old entertainer would take center stage in the Super Bowl. Back in 2004, Timberlake joined Janet Jackson for her halftime performance and caused quite a controversy when he partially and intentionally disrobed Jackson’s dress on live television.

The infamous “wardrobe malfunction” incident forced the Federal Communications Commission to implement a five-second delay for live TV broadcasts to avoid such obscene instances from occurring yet again.

Us Weekly also mentioned that rapper-turned-business mogul JAY Z is also involved in talks of performing with Timberlake at Super Bowl LII. However, the entertainment news site’s insider stated that “as of right now, it will just be Justin — no surprise performers.”

Gotta confess the only two songs I know of his are "Dick in a Box" and "Motherlover".

Every year someone has to reference Janet Jackson's nipple.

Get over it, America.

This might be a better year for Green Day to lead off with "American Idiot".

I heard that it was supposed to be Neil Diamond, but the NFL was afraid of using the word Neil.

Up with People to commemorate the last time the SB was here.

If more people were for people - all people everywhere.
There's be a lot less people to worry about,
and a lot more people who care.

Bitches.

Shut up with that stupid bullshit. It is that type of music that lots of people don't like, especially for a football game halftime entertainment.

Like his work with Lonely Island and seems to be a pretty good dude with a sense of humor about himself.

Doubt we will see any LI songs at the Super Bowl though.

Doesn't ted nugent live in Minnesota? Would also be a great choice. They could run out a great white buffalo and warpaint Indian shoots him down with an arrow from his horse.

Would be freaking awesome!

I love me some JT. One of the few true pop stars with talent

Let's be honest though.. performers use it to promote something or for the cash grab.. they are usually not even mic'd up

That Bruno Mars solo 1/2T was tight. Not on Prince's level, but might be the 2nd best one in SB history.

I know he's 'harrmless' but the guy is ridic talented, too. Like if Donny Osmond and Aaron Rodgers had a gayby.

Timberlake is in that groove too, though he's a performer and singer, not so much a musician. Reception will depend a lot on his set list.

Most people here want it to be -20 or a snowstorm for SB weekend. That week is on average the coldest time of the year. Never know what could happen.

If we get snow, we get to show the rest of the US how to handle snow.
