LG Parker Ehinger rotating in along offensive line, is an option against Texans, Andy Reid says.

Ehinger is going to play this week so it makes this blow a little softer. Andy said Witzmann had his best performance last week.

He basically can't be from my understanding. That said, he hasn't practiced once since last season, so I'm a bit skeptical that he'll be back at all.

We take a cap hit of about 350k if we cut Hali according to OTC. I just don't understand how things went downhill so fast with Hali.

He's old. 3 years past his prime and basically playing on no knees.

He needs to hang them up. Time for a youth movement and less old farts.

Nah - even with those three down the O-Line is still as good or better than the abortion we sent out there in 2015.

Look at this mess:

LT: Donald Stephenson (pile of shit)
LG: Ben Grubbs (crippled)
C: Mitch Morse (rookie in his 1st start)
RG: LDT (rookie in his 1st start from some D2 school)
RT: Jah Reid (fuck this guy in his face)

Seriously - that's arguably the worst opening day OL ever assembled. Smith was sacked twice.

If Reid wants to scheme around a pass rush, he can but it's gonna be some uuuuugly football. It's gonna be the dink/dunk screens and short pass game that so many of you loathe.

But I don't see a great option to the contrary. Last week they ended up pretty patchwork mid-game (and didn't know what they'd have in Fisher) so they had to make some adjustments on the fly. This week they'll know exactly what they're working with going into the game and I'd imagine they'll have a very conservative gameplan because of it.

This could easily end up a 17-13 sort of game. I wouldn't expect many aerial heroics by Hill and you have to believe the box 7 will be crashing on Hunt. It's gonna be a grind it out game where we have to hope that Kelce can find space with Cushing out and A.J. Bouye in Jacksonville. Bouye spent a lot of time matched up with Kelce last time around and did nice work there. I think he'll be the key to our offense.

I'd move Ehinger right now.

Any bit of continuity we can salvage on the inside right now needs to be prioritized. If we had Morse available maybe I'd do it but if you're shifting 1 interior lineman and plugging in 2 other backups, that's just too much shuffling, IMO.

At least keep 3 of your 5 opening day starters where they were. Communication and cohesion has been the biggest issue with this line so far and familiarity is the only thing that might build some of that back up.

Regardless of who plays LG or RG, this will be a tough matchup up front for us. Going to need Reid on his A game with his plan. Defense needs to show out big against a rookie QB.

Would be a wise move if Andy started Mahomes this week because of his scrambling ability. It would attract a large audience to see the first battle between Mahomes and Watson. Sunday night shootout in Texas!

:shake: Good grief, just cool your jets.

I think I'd put Ehinger where he belongs, LG. They need to crap or get off the pot about Hali. Zombo is worthless as a pass rusher and Ford can't be counted on. Bring in Kpass on passing downs until Hali comes back or Ford quits being a pussy.

Its the lack of pass rush and instability to stop the run is whats gonna hurt more than a banged up OL.

For Houston, they will be missing CB Kevin Johnson and OG Kyle Fuller... they also have had their starting TE on IR for the last few weeks, and Duane Brown is still holding out at LT... Cushing is suspended.

Even though we have been dealt a rough hand, they are dealing with quite a bit too.

Maybe I'm wrong, but even if Ehinger plays I wouldnt count on him being any real difference maker... he was still raw when he got injured, and now has a lot of rust on him

Its gonna be a tough go no matter how they shuffle things around IMO... Hunt better be ready to carry the load again
