Back in the 90s my dad would call them Spittsburg every time we played them. He disliked the Steelers before it was cool to do so in this town. Based on that, I'll say Chiefs win by 6.

Hunt runs wild but so does Bell. Tyreek is the wild card this week - either a long pass or another punt return sets us up for the winning score.

Every week we are losing more and more players. It has to slow us down. It won't stop us from winning against a team that is having lots of it own troubles though.

We win by 7 or less in a low scoring game.

Steelers offense can't seem to get out of their own way and they have one of the best defenses in the league so far. We're kind of the opposite but with a lot of pieces missing.

I say something like 20-17 Chiefs.

It won't be close. Roethlisberger has been terrible on the road for a while now and now he just isn't very good at all. Bell's stopping while running gimmick is no longer working well either.

Their D is the #1 against the pass only giving up 139 yards a game, but they are the 28th against the run giving up 136 yards a game, which is worse than we are at 20th with 118 yards a game. We just need to pound the rock.

I hope Reid lets Hunt feast on them. That being said, we'll still be missing our interior OL (unless Morse and company magically gets better) which is a big deal for the run game. Also, I would expect the Steelers to sell out on the run game, pack the box, and force us to pass on them. If that's the case, I hope that Kelce is good to go.

Remember, their Pass D is rated so high because Chicago ran all over them (and kept Glennon from losing the game for them) and the same with Jacksonville (Hie thee, Bortles, to the hand-off point and throwest not the ball). So, really, they've only faced three QBs who can throw out of 5 games (and honestly, Flacco was crap that week).

First loss. Pittsburgh has our number right now and their game last Sunday was a fluke. Bell's gonna run all over us, Brown's gonna push 200 receiving, and we're going to turn the ball over trying to keep up without Kelce. I hope it's close but I have a feeling it won't be. The better team (and I think we are...) doesn't always win, and I just don't like the way this one is lining up.

I have always respected your takes but I think you are wrong on this one. Pitt has looked pretty bad all year so far, last week was not a fluke. They barely beat the Browns by 3, beat a bad Ravens team, and lost to Chicago. Nothing to write home on any of their games so far this year.

But these are the Steelers who we always have issues with. I think we win a close one, 28-24.

Steelers have always used us as a getting back on track game. I agree for the most part with what you said here except for IF both teams are healthy their offense and defensive line and LBs are still better than us. Our 2ndary and special teams are better but that's it IMHO.

I don't see it that way - I think we've already played the toughest teams we'll face. Pittsburgh is a mess and not the same team we faced last year. Oakland is Oakland. The best team Denver has beat is Dallas, and that was at home. Other than that, they beat the overrated Raiders, barely beat the Chargers, and lost their only road game at Buffalo. Their schedule has been a cake walk so far while ours has been a vicious bitch. That's about to flip. They'll piss pound the Giants, but after that, they'll fade quickly.

Barring unforeseen injuries, at Dallas is the only game I legitimately see us losing, and if we're healthy, there's no reason not win that as well. Week 17 in Denver with be tough, but we should be resting starters in that game, so who cares?

New England is our biggest obstacle to home field, but we've got a two-game lead on them, plus the tie-breaker.

This bitch is ours to lose.

And 2 of those losses were against the Titans and Bucs

The Bucs game was a joke...they didn't call holding on them all game and let Winston sit back a pick the Chiefs apart. I posted screen shots of that one as it was so overt...Jones was getting mugged, repeatedly, right in front of the ref. KC didn't register a sack that game.

Interesting that KC lost to the two top rookie picks in exactly the same fashion...who were vying for the post season in their respective divisions. It took two separate late red zone picks by Smith..who literally never does that to pull it off...Chiefs were about to go up two scores in both games. *cough cough*...like Smith doesn't understand the game situation/score.

Then Reid tries to ice the Titans kicker by giving him two tries in frigid conditions He missed the first...while never giving Hill another touch after he went 70 yards for a TD in the first half.

KC got their marching orders last year...and it culminated with the only holding call of the 2nd half to kill the 2 point conversion vs. the Steelers.

we only lose to teams that are say 1-4

What?

We haven't lost to a team that finished with a losing record since week5, 2015

Last year, Titans, Bucs, and Texans all finished 9-7.

It fucking kills me to type this.

I said the same thing last year.

If Pitt was winning and not being ridiculed I would call this a win.

Unfortunately, we are about to be Pittsburgh's way of getting back on track.

God I hate myself right now.

Yes, Pittsburgh is messed up and Ben is questioning his own confidence. The most likely scenario is they pound the run.. So can we stop it? If not, Alex will only have 7 possessions and we'll lose by less than a field goal.

Oh wait, that already happened. But seriously, I do think this is a different team, and if the D can at least get off the field, it won't be competitive.

This year we have been fine stopping the run in base personnel. Its the sub packages that are the issue.

35-17 Chiefs. Hunt runs wild for 150 and 2 TDs. Alex has 290 and 2 TDs.

Defense gets 2 INTs and Hill returns another punt.

I don't have the best feeling about it, the Steelers have always given the Chiefs problems lately. They have a fast defense thats athletic.

Their pass defense is really good, their rushing defense is really bad. They are giving up 136 yards a game.

In comparison our rush defense is our weak spot and we are giving up 116 yards a game.

Yeah, but we're also without like 4 offensive lineman or something.

If the Chiefs were healthy I'd feel more comfortable, but the injuries are piling up fast. As usual it seems.

Steelers defense as a whole is trash. They haven't played a single good QB. That's why their pass defense is 1st. Kizer, Bortles, Keenum, Glennon and Flacco is easy street.

But they've shown the past couple years that it's no mirage.

Pitt is great at chucking it deep and running inside. Both are the Chiefs defensive weaknesses.

The Chiefs offense is going to need to produce this game. The weather is going to be decent I think.

In short, I agree.

Theyre front 7 is pretty good as well.

Roethlisberger: When throwing down the field more than 15 yards, he's sporting an 18.8 passer rating with zero touchdowns.

That includes against the Browns and Bears...maybe he doesn't have "it" anymore.

Steelers say Chiefs will see James Harrison on Sunday

The Steelers have left linebacker James Harrison on the inactive list the last two weeks, but it sounds like he’ll be in uniform this weekend.

Defensive coordinator Keith Butler didn’t outline a role that Harrison, who has played seven snaps all year after the team called him a “relief pitcher” for starters T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree, but did say that the Chiefs should be ready for him.

“Well, it’s always good to have James Harrison when you play Kansas City and let their offensive tackle see him,” Butler said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I’ll just say that. … See him. I’ll leave it at that. You can imagine what might happen.”

Harrison had a sack against the Chiefs in last season’s playoff matchup and he also drew a holding penalty on left tackle Eric Fisher on a successful two-point conversion attempt late in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs did not score on the retry, allowing the Steelers to advance with an 18-16 win.

The Chiefs defense played their best overall game against immobile QB Phillip Rivers. I think they will top that effort against an even less mobile Big Ben. NFLN analysts pointed out Pittsburg's ILBs were confused and missing assignments against the Jags. Now they'll be going against AR's multiple formations, motion, and fakes offense. I'm predicting a Chiefs win with the Steelers only TD coming in garbage time.

While Kansas City enters this week as the clear favorite, there are some signs pointing to Pittsburgh as being capable of the upset. The Steelers have handed the Chiefs two of the four losses they’ve suffered in their past 20 games. Also, the Steelers have six victories against teams that are 5-0 in the Super Bowl era, tied with the Patriots for most in that period, and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has won five straight starts against Kansas City.

Jacksonville has to be given a lot of credit. They were great at getting pressure and their end zone coverage was outstanding last Sunday. I don't think Pittsburgh is unraveling so much as the Jags are simply a bad match up for the Steelers. They played great zone in the middle of the field with Jack and Smith who are both sideline to sideline linebackers that are abnormally athletic for their positions. These guys consistently stopped Le'Veon Bell from getting to the edge and when you couple that with Haley's head scratching play calling it creates a toxic mess. Seriously, Haley is ****ing awful and I have no idea how he still has a job the guy had Brown run an out and up on the tight side of the field where he had no business doing that, there was just no damn room for it.

Regardless, the key to beating the Steelers is pretty cliche: have a disciplined and controlled run game. Use that sledgehammer of ours called Kareem Hunt. Steelers have downhill linebackers that like to penetrate and shoot gaps. Get them frustrated so they shoot downhill, miss their gap assignments, and cheat even more because of it. It's like a cycle. Our defense worries me though. I really don't know how we are going to hold off Bell. Unless someone steps up he's going to be a headache all night long.

The Steelers are still a good team. And this one is going to be close. But I think momentum is just in our favor right now. 6-0.

Everybody every week says "this game scares me". It's hilarious

I said it last week against the Texans, and I feel even more strongly about it this week - we don't match up with the Steelers well for whatever reason. Le'veon Bell is a nightmare matchup against our leaky run defense. Ben hasn't been himself this year, but he's still got Brown and other talent at receiver, and Peters hasn't looked himself the last couple of weeks. That said, Alex is playing on a whole other level than he did when he faced them twice last year, and Kareem Hunt is owning souls out there.

Whoever wins will win by a field goal or less.

They do something with their coverages that mind-fucks him.

With new kids at wide receiver to boot.

That's the one thing Alex has done this year as compared to any other year - he's utilizing his receivers down the field. I haven't studied up on the Stealer's defense, so I don't really know how their secondary and pass rush are. But if Alex can continue that trend and not freak out at the Pittsburgh blitz, I like our chances. He has to do it, though.
