I don't know about you, but I had a really super shitty week. Work sucked, I haven't been feeling good -my maintenance meds mess with me sometimes when I'm stressed out- Chiefs have lost crushing games twice in a row. Still, they're in first in the AFC West, they don't have a losing record. So in order to play Little Mary Sunshine for all of us, since we don't have another game for 11 days- I had an idea.

I don't know of many of you know this, but for many years I had my own website (www.georgeblowfish.com). Don't look for it now, it's long gone since I could do Facebook for free. Anyway, since I got my first Mac in 1994 I've saved lots of pictures of Chiefs stuff. I had a bunch of it on my website, and I still have all that stuff. I've got some pretty funny stuff from our years suffering through Grandpa Dick, Squirmin' Herman, Fat Scott, Dr. Evil G-Robb, Romeo and some other stuff that just made me laugh over the years. I've chosen just a few to hopefully make you smile, and more importantly, to remind you it could be a HELL of a lot worse seven games in. I'm going to hang my hat on that for the next 11 days, anyway. Here's my contributions, and if you have anything saved you'd like to share, by all means put it in this thread!

As much as it sucks, I'll take this over Squirmin Herman Motherfucking Sack of Cunt Edwards allow JaFatass Bustell lead a 4th quarter comeback. That's right close to the bottom.

My Dad and I used to walk up and get tickets (cheap, way under face) on game day against the Donks and sit at the 50 yard line in the lower bowl. Pre Marty. 5-6 others of you may have been there with us.

Years ago a game like last night's would have pissed me off for a week or more. These days I get over it pretty quick. There are more important things in life. And while I don't believe that games are fixed, I do believe they are rigged to produce close finishes when possible.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I remember most of those pics and I remember your website. You had a section dedicated to former chiefs who went to the dark side(raider and donks).

Yeah, well we just handed the keys to home field advantage to Pittsburgh, we just opened New Englands door for a spot and if we lose to Denver we are flat out fucked. And our defense fucking sucks.

Now have a god damn good day!

GB keep em coming.

I recall being at the lowest attendance game ever and yes they over inflated stated attendance, a lot. I remember the hot blond more than I do the game (not really but she was hot) as it was colder than**** or felt like it as no one was anywhere near us... 19 degrees was the high for the day but we were home by the time that balmy weather was upon us. Do you remember the temp at kickoff? I know you were there...

FYI: A meager crowd of 11,377 attended the club's season-ending 48-17 win vs. Denver (12/18), the smallest attendance figure ever for a Chiefs game at Arrowhead as the club finished the year at 6-10.

I remember a game where I sat in freezing rain for three and a half hours and watched the Pelvis pee down his leg in the 4th and hand the game to the dark lord. January 4 1998. 13-3 home field for all playoff games. A truly miserable day in all respects. Refused to be an optimistic Chiefs fan since. They have been, are, and always be my team but until they get to the Super Bowl I will expect the worst.

I can't remember much about the game but we went to a night game in the mid 2000's where the sky opened up, flooded the field and then stopped and resumed the game. It rained so hard the stairs looked more like a fast moving rocky stream than stairs. Anyone recall that game? I was kinda drunk at the time...

Are you sure it was the 2000s? '93 was the flood year I remember. Was vacuuming a wet basement and watching water flood down the steps of the stadium. But, I'm old and memory is no longer reliable. It could have been a Royals game.

Thanks for jogging the memory.
I have worked very hard to put some of my previous life out of my memory. That's why I had the years wrong. I even forgot who I went with ****ing wrong. Most of it is coming back now.* (dammit) The fog is lifting. I was still married:deevee:, and the Chiefs were playing a really big, nationally televised, game on SNF for the AFL lead and maybe the NFL (someone remember?*) with a record of 3-1 going in just like the Seahawks.

I would have sworn that that game was like 2003-2006 and that I went with the highly adventurous, super fit, super hot, sports enthusiast GF, I dated for 5 years during the Green /Crowley era vs.the ex wifey.* Thanks a lot, I won't ask questions again! (that sure ****ed up that memory*)

I had been redoing a house in northern O.P., I met the now ex-wifey (you understand my dementia now?) at the old-Old Chicago Pizza on Quivira. We were having a beer/ wine, (I had a couple already:D) getting my fix of free pint glasses for my collection. A couple near us said their friends had just bailed on the game and offered to take us to the game. Said the seats were under the overhang at the 45 so no rain gear needed. I was all in and Wifey actually seemed excited about the adventure. (which shocked the shit out of me. I think*) She has only attended 2 Chiefs games in her life. This and one to see our daughter sing the anthem. To her "Band" is a sport, daughters too.:(

I bought 2-6 packs (top shelf), a trash bag full of bar ice and a box, dropped my pint glasses in my 240Z, grabbed an umbrella, and off we went. We took their MB ML430 (I remember! It was brand new: Maroon with cream interior) as there was flooding reported near Arrowhead, smart move as Stadium Dr. entrance sucked big time.

The game was certainly an experience before the storm delay KC - FG, Seahawk's were contained, after a Gannon fumble, inside the 10 for a FG. Moon was knocked out early (ribs). Rain so hard you couldn't see the plays.

https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/RN1oAhgNhmRU5LJKVvV1ykPphJY=/1000x0/filters:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/7216281/dtgetty.jpg

During the delay we experienced: raging streams that once were isles, a newly formed Lake Arrowhead:D, and the upper deck seating being evacuated? to the lower concourse that looked something like rain water packed sardines.*

After the rain delay: SH's recover another Gannon fumble inside the 10, KC's D holds for FG. Chiefs pick off SH, Gannon 4yd TD Pass. The highlight of the game was the 80 yard TD pass from Grbac to Rison in the 3rd quarter to put the game away.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aEoEdFqg0nw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

With the extra hour of drinking time during the delay and the remaining beers on ice those of us who were drinking were feeling no pain*, we were dry, and the chiefs were on top of the AFC! I left my 240Z and rode home with wifey*. Not a bad night for someone who was going to grab a beer and find a TV (Fuzzy's?) to watch the game!

*Harry McCullough: "I don't know, I was really drunk at the time,"

FYI: Must know Chiefs history: We were #1(4-1) in the AFC (maybe NFL?) at that time, only to end up with a losing season.(7-9)

I am searching for a pic that I thought I had put away for safe keeping (probably with dead relatives pics) I know my old "Chief's Seat Connection (CSC)" has it as it was nicely framed and used to hang in his game room before moving to StL. It was taken in the fall of 1995.

It was a picture of Carl sitting up on the roof at Tavern and Top Deck (O'Dowd's) on a Friday night with 5 Chief's cheerleaders with a quote underneath:

"You know that Carl Peterson guy is alright, giving up his Friday night just to spend it with his daughters"

I will find that picture!

FYI:CSC --- A person who held 250-300 Chiefs season tickets for the sole purpose of selling or bartering them for a profit.

13-3 home field for all playoff games. A truly miserable day in all respects. Refused to be an optimistic Chiefs fan since. They have been, are, and always be my team but until they get to the Super Bowl I will expect the worst.

On Christmas Day 1971, the Chiefs hosted the Miami Dolphins in an AFC divisional playoff game. In perhaps his toughest day as a professional, Stenerud made a 24-yard field goal in the first quarter, but then missed from 29 and 32 yards, the latter with 35 seconds remaining in regulation, and had a 42-yarder blocked three minutes into overtime. The Dolphins won 27–24 in double overtime on a 37-yard field goal by Garo Yepremian. Through 2016, the game remains the longest in NFL history at 82 minutes, 40 seconds of playing time, and was also the final football game in Municipal Stadium.

I whimpered and cried little tears at the Christmas Dinner table as my Dad made fun of me. :deevee:

This game began my life of misery as a Chiefs fan and I feel the same way as you, expect the worse and be happy when it's anything better.

CHIEFS WONDERFUL MEMORIES

-The Longest Game in NFL History
-The 15 Fucking Horrible Years of Horrible Coaches 1975-1989 Record (81-128): Paul Wiggin, Tom Bettis, Marv Levy, John Mackovic, Frank Gansz
-Homefield for the playoffs, Homefield for losses
-Raiders knocking us out of the playoffs last game of the year
-Colts comeback from 28 points down in playoffs
-Marty's playoff failures
-David Krieg sacked 7 times by Derrick Thomas but we LOSE on close to last play as DT just misses another sack.
-Playing Elvis instead of Gannon
-No punt playoff game
-John Elway's many, many comebacks against us
-Pittsburgh Steelers constantly beating us and beating us up
-The Kicker that Shall Remain Nameless
-Pioli, Herm, Haley shit show
-QB Triple Disasters of Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen and Matt Cassel (There are other worthy mentions like Mark the pickle Vlasic and Steve Pelluer)
-1987 FIVE STARTING QB'S
-The Death of Joe Delaney
-The Death of Derrick Thomas
-Jovan Belcher murder-suicide
-The Monday Night Meltdown against the Raiders (New!)

It's really amazing that many of us old guys who are fans since 1970 aren't in straightjackets, in the looney bin or on Prozac-Xanax! :hmmm:
