Got a buddy who's the exec. sports producer for the Fox affiliate in Phoenix. Got this text from him yesterday.

"You hear any rumblings of Chiefs looking for possible Fitz trade?"

I replied that I hadn't heard anything, but that I'd be all for it, as long as he wasn't looking to play more than the rest of this season and maybe next.

He answered by saying that Fitz was interested in playing one more season beyond this year, and that a source inside the Cardinals said that "he'd be willing to go to the Chiefs or New England". He said Steve Keim wasn't returning their calls, which was "very unusual, something is up".

Would be great, if affordable. Maybe Robinson can evolve.. and I realize it is very premature.. but I'm already very underwhelmed with him as a starter (lol, shame on me I know)...

Don't know how we could do that with our cap situation. Otherwise, can he play CB?

Would be a waste with Alex at QB. He might catch 3-4 passes a game.

can he play DT, MLB, or OT?

We can’t afford him.

This would probably be one of those scenarios where they work something out financially between the teams to make a trade work. Fitz just wants to win at this point.

Vontae Davis would be a much better option if the Colts will take some kinda late/conditional pick.

Given that Ballard is there, you would think they would be all over that. Colts are ready to sell the farm. Makes too much sense but idk if its feasible financially.

I brought it up in a thread earlier in the week but they could restructure Houston to get around $9M...I believe. Even if we don't restructure his deal.....we're not getting out from under Houston's contract until 2020.

If we could find a trade partner for Hali and restructure Houston....that would give us around $20M in cap space right now. And it shouldn't fuck us over in the future.

Thanks for clearing that up, boss. I guess we can all go home now.

That is some pretty serious speculation from the sports producer. I would be shocked if Fitzgerald is moved. I'll trust the beat reporters down here over the producer. Every single reporter/insider close to the Cards has stated he does not want to be traded and has a no trade clause in his contract.
