Well, we're halfway through another entertaining season. We've got some quality ass wins and some annoying ass losses, but the same can be said for most teams. What's obvious is that this team can beat anyone in the league, especially if all of our stars are giving us elite production.

Alex Smith is on pace for 69% completion 4,300 yards at 8.4 YPA with 32 TDs 0 INTs and a 115 passer rating

Kareem Hunt is on pace for 300 attempts 1,500 rushing yards at 5.2 YPC as well as 56 receptions for 600 yards and 12 TDs

Tyreek Hill is on pace for 76 receptions for 1,100 yards and 6 TDs

Travis Kelce is on pace for 88 receptions for 1,100 yards and 8 TDs

Justin Houston is on pace to collect 15 sacks

Marcus Peters is on pace for 6 INTs and 4 FF

Harrison Butker is on pace to complete 36 of 38 field goals

Unfortunately I don't have any advanced statistics on pressures for Houston or completion % against, yards and TDs given up for Peters so we'll roll with what we've got... At this point who would you say is our MVP?

Alex Smith. Hate to say it but I'm shocked at how well he's playing. Still waiting to see how he does in the playoffs, though.

Alex Smith and it's not even close. He's been by far our best player.

I picked Hunt because I don't really like Alex Smith. I would have picked both if that was an option though.

Alex Smith. It really helps to have a running game again. Not to mention, some of the O-line back in place. 16 tds and 0 ints speaks for itself with WRs banged up.

1. Kareem Hunt
2. Alex Smith
3. Harrison Butker

Honorable mention: Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce

Robinson has looked good IMHO too but needs more targets. He seems to get open a lot

All of these guys deserve it, but I'd have to go with Alex.

However, given the last few games I could also make a strong argument for LDT.

Alex started the season hot and I loved it, but he has regressed much since then.

I'm going with the Kicker.

Patrick Mahomes II. Without drafting Patrick and igniting a fire under Alex ass he wouldn't be playing to the level he is playing.

Kareem Hunt and Buttkicker really are doing the most marvelous of jobs respectfully.

I say Butker up seats Dustin Colquitt as reigning MVP

Berry played one game and legitimately locked down the best TE of this generation. He absolutely put the cuffs on Gronk. Berry is a legend. Imagine how good we'd be if he were still healthy..

I miss him.

I think an underrated choice has to be Mitch Schwartz. He deserves some love.

He's been our most consistent player and has shut down Bosa, Ingram, Mack, Ray and Miller.

Best RT in the league.

For some reason I was thinking he had bad games against LAC and OAK.. Are you sure he shined in those contests? I seem to recall Mack getting a decent amount of pressures.

What have you been filling those oxygen canisters with? Really Smith? He has kinda really sucked the last 3 games but I am not inpressed with the offense overall.

They are like racing my old Lotus Super 7, I would be a second ahead and right when you think you're going to turn a great time the ****ing thing would start spitting and sputtering. Once in the pits ,finishing last, it ran perfect. All you could do was to sit there scratching your head wondering why.

I think that sums up the Alex11 offense of the last 3 games. I'm surprised by that coming from you:hmmm:

Kareem Hunt.

When he gets shut down, the Chiefs lose, or aren't nearly as effective offensively.

A lowkey reason we lost in Oakland was that other than one run, the Raiders stopped him.

True, but Siemen sucks. If they had a competent QB, that outcome could have been different.

Wasn't there 5 Donks turnovers and it was still a 1 score game in the 4th Q? ughh.

The offense looked like shit outside of a couple passes that Kelce had to jump insanely high for.

If he gets shut down AND Reid forgets about Kelce, the offense sputters.

The offense was humming right along even with Hunt doing very little until Reid started to try to get a few other things working out wide. Then the gadget play went to hell, the running game still didn't spark and the offensive rhythm fell to absolute shit until they dialed up Kelce again.

Kelce deserves strong #2 consideration here and easy #3. Kelce's a guy that is as capable of moving this offense along as Hunt is and if I had to pick Hunt or Kelce to go down for a significant period of time, I'd actually choose Hunt. Kelce's been incredible this year and the Denver game only reinforced it. He can still function incredibly well even when the running game doesn't.

Alex Smith. Clearly

Look at Brady's stats vs Denver, last two meetings

2016 (16-3 win)
16/32, 188 yards, 0 TD

2015 (18-20 loss)
27/56, 310 yards, TD, 2 INT

Alex Smith posts 14/31, 202, 1 TD and people say "same old Alex"

More like same old elite Denver defense

Without Alex Smith we'd be no better than any other team in the AFC West

Smith wasn't all-world against the Steelers or Donks but in the big picture he's been the most consistent and made the most difference, even with a banged up OL and WR corps.

At the very worst, he's been 2016 Smith with one or two more extra big passes a game. That Smith won't win the game for you but will, at the very least, put the team in contention for the victory with a little help (which obviously will not always work out). That's a pretty good deal if that's what you get from "bad games" to fill the gaps between league-MVP performances. You'd have to be a particularly dumb fuck if you expected the Chiefs to be 8-0 right now, especially given the schedule we've played so far.

and even still, if Harris doesn't drop a for-sure TD and Reid doesn't go full retard with the Hill pass then we're talking about a completely different game

Smith sucked against Pittsburgh but was good against Oakland and decent against Denver, who btw has the best secondary in the NFL.

It's pretty damn nice to have 5 Chiefs players in the 10 offensive positons being discussed as mid season All Pros.

Don't remember the last time that's happened.

Smith's play early on is the reason for the number in our W column.

I don't think Tyreek Hill deserves MVP consideration, but his presence on the field makes everyone from Hunt, Kelce, to Alex Smith more dangerous. Our offense becomes pretty pedestrian without him on the field.

Just don't let him throw any more passes. :)
