I'm at a loss for words. I've never heard of ham loaf. Sounds like homemade SPAM. Looks like homemade SPAM.

Red's video is terribad. I hope that guy is doing this cable access thing on purpose.

Looking Ptylon's recipe, it'd be something I'd try probably, but I'll bet that loaf is salty.

hmm I enjoyed his video - no the ground pork addition offsets what would be too salty.

I know but again - added unseasoned ground pork in addition to the ground ham. Should be fine.

I am with you;
Home made Spam with the crap you get for ham these days. I also feel that with pepper, onions, and who knows what else you could add would certainly kick it up a few ticks.

This is correct except it isn't one loaf. You take the mixture and mold 8-10 loaves by hand and put them in the 9x13 pan.

More wonderful basted crust in each loaf.

And I see a lot of hesitant people here. Just try it. The basting sauce is both sweet and tart and delicious and makes the dish, definitely.

And as pointed out, it's not one big loaf, but little hand sized loaves. "Tiny footballs of love".

If you have a Fareway store in your town, they have it ready made. Your local butcher can grind you some as well. They probably know what it is.
