They must be happy.

The players are

McAdoo has lost this team. He's got us going 80% on Saturdays before we got on a plane to play a game, it's wild. Changed our off day. He's dishing out fines like crazy. Suspended two our our stars when we need them the most. Throws us under the bus all the time. He's ran us into the ground and people wonder why we've been getting got."

And apparently, another anonymous player:

"Guys are giving up on the season, and nothing is being done. Guys just don't care anymore."

Honestly, imo it almost sounds made up. It's way too perfect a quote, especially given the fact that this dude apparently "reached out to ESPN" to say this to the media after JJ's suspension. Like who tf does that. I know it perfectly fits the narrative that Ben's lost the locker room, but to go out to the media and say this? That's just low as a player. I mean, the suspensions were even justified.

Way different from players who were fine putting their names behind quotes in the same ESPN segment:

Landon Collins:

"I don't think that Ben McAdoo has lost this team. I have the upmost respect for him. He's doing a great job. We just have to see where we are."

DRC:

"I still think we're trying to find our identity, but things change from year to year, and you can't expect things to be the same, but it is on the players."

And yes, those are certainly seem like canned responses, especially LC's because McAdoo has not being doing a great job. But at least they're actual people we know, and have self-control to keep stuff in house. They ended the segment saying McAdoo wants a much more simplified defensive scheme, and this anonymous player was also complaining that they were running plays against the Rams that they didn't run since training camp.

...which, idk about you, just makes this dude look a bit foolish imo. Like you don't remember plays you practiced before the season? How low on the depth chart are you?

And I know it's going to sound like I'm supporting McAdoo. I'm not trying to, but I know it'll sound that way. But in my opinion, if this is true, then it sounds like players (or at least this player) really have checked out and just want to play out this season, and are complaining that McAdoo is trying to do something to change it. I certainly don't like McAdoo and wish for change, but the players aren't making it easy to be on their side either. And don't even get me started on the crap job Spags has been doing. Why he's so free of blame on here is beyond me.

If this is true, though, it certainly all but sheds any doubt that McAdoo hasn't lost the locker room. At least we have LC and DRC that still have the control to face the media and give normal responses.

Never should have gotten rid of Coughlin.

Now that they fired Cough and Mcadoo Giants have to be worried about entering 49er/Browns territory no one wants to come and coach for you due to your high turnover rate.

It was obvious at least I thought that the game had pass Tom by at that point he just got too old.

Like Landry you can be a great coach sometimes but you get stuck in your old ways of coaching that don't gel well with the ever changing game.

Hey, two time SB winners are a dime a dozen!

Some coaches have shelf lives. I think Coughlin could easily be considered among that group.

I think the Giants probably needed to make a change, both for their sake and Coughlin's. Not everybody can just plug in arguably the greatest QB in NFL history for 15 years and just ensure winning cures all ails. For most, they have to constantly seek 'buy-in' and after 8-10 years, the speeches have all been heard; the messages all tried. You're out of bullets and its time to go.

The firing is often not the problem; the hiring that follows it is.

The writing was on the wall. I didn't really think they would do it midseason but its not very surprising. They aren't a great team but I figured they'd be better than they are at the beginning of the year. I don't really care about the G-Men aside from them beating Oakland and Denver and losing to us. So far they're 1 for 1.

I wish it was true - However, publishing information without verification except from an anonymous 'DM' is a dangerous practice to unlocking that big story.

John Mara has no choice but to fire Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese according to (thank God) the national media.

Reese spent $200 million last season in free agency covering up his horrendous draft picks to fix the worst Giants defense in 2015 - Then has the nerve to come back with the same players on the offensive line that have been dreadful for the better part of three years.

The Giants have not had a running game, a left tackle, a right tackle, an offensive line to protect an aging QB for far too long.

The Rams torched the Giants defense for 51 points last Sunday.

Watch this shocking play on a 52-yard wide receiver screen TD on third and 33. Keep an eye on #24 Eli Apple [near the 30-yard line], last year's #1 draft pick bust as the face of quitting...McAdoo has lost the team.

Slow Motion:

<blockquote class="twitter-video" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">A slow-motion, magnified look at Eli Apple&#39;s &quot;effort&quot; on the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Rams?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Rams</a>&#39; 3rd &amp; 33 touchdown. He&#39;s at the top of the screen, at the 35 yard line. <a href="https://t.co/gVJufUM4Rv">pic.twitter.com/gVJufUM4Rv</a></p>&mdash; Ƒunhouse (@BackAftaThis) <a href="https://twitter.com/BackAftaThis/status/927374338613022720?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 6, 2017</a></blockquote>

According to Pro Football Focus, Eli Apple’s 116.0 NFL rating, made up of having allowed 33 pass completions out of 55 pass targets for 364 yards, 6 touchdowns and no interceptions, is the worst among the team’s cornerbacks.

McAdoo lost this team the minute he threw Eli under the bus without mentioning anyone else.

This is all you have to know when the Giants play the Kansas City Chiefs in a few weeks:

After the 51-17 loss to the Rams on Sunday, Eli Manning was asked a question in the post-game conference on why he missed two deep balls to two young WRs on a corner route in the end zone?

Eli's answer:
A: You know, tried to take a shot down the field just to try to put it kind of a line drive throw, put it in there. You know, we’ve got to keep working on it. Sometimes we’re getting some of these throws for the first time in games, so we just got to find a way to hit them in the live situations.

Are you kidding me - Eli's first time hitting two young WRs on a corner route during a live game! The media picked up on the response and found it mind boggling. This from a head coach that reminds the media, "that this year’s squad practices better than last season’s playoff-qualifying club."

The Rams Mercy-Ruled the Giants, pulled their starters and knelt in victory formation before the two-minute warning. McAdoo's response? More of the same.

If I were on the Giants, I would save my body and quit too. The defense quit because McAdoo suspended two of their best DBs in back-to-back games according to an anonymous player on the team for some BS. The dumbass could not fine the players?

The last time a team scored 50 points on the Giants was in 1964 when Mara was 10-years old. Today, he is in his sixties.

This is the kind of score that ultimately costs people their jobs.
