If so, why? I've even seen recipes for pickle cupcakes.

where's that Gary Coleman meme...
I read a review where someone said she bought them as a gag gift hoping they'd have the true sour pickle taste. She said that they were just really sweet with a hint of dill, and, while they didn't taste as bad as she expected, they weren't what she'd hoped for.
The cupcake recipe I saw called for dill, a small amount of pickle juice, and some finely chopped pickles. Ugh.

That's the flavor you get when you don't want anyone stealing candy canes off your Xmas tree. Why not use a green fruit instead if they're serious... like apple, grape, watermelon, maybe even lime. Pickle sounds more like a gag gift.

Give them to unruly kids, tell them Santa will only turn them back into normal candy canes if they behave.
