You have to cook the sausage, right? That seems like a lot of work right now.

Same. Jimmy Deans hot breakfast sausage and Velveeta. If I have cream cheese on hand I'll throw it in.

Never seen them, but generally I prefer potato-chip-flavored potato chips. Maybe nacho cheese. Others, not so much.

If crock pot is in play, I like to get the Curley's pulled pork un-sauced, get a bottle of Gates, or Bryant's sweet sauce, or whatever you like, put that in a crock pot for a couple hours, get some egg buns or onion buns (slider sized) and that works pretty well.

Cowboy stew is good too: Ground beef, corn, red beans, sliced potatoes, mushrooms, seasonings....yeah buddy.

I'll cop to being the person that brings pita chips and hummus. Hummus is cheap and easy to make and you can do variations with roasted red pepper, garlic, whatever really. Plus all the wives and girlfriends want to fuck you for not bringing something that's going to make them feel fat for eating around friends or some shit that's likely to drip all over them. So that's a plus.

I like Sabra a lot. I think the biggest challenge of making hummus at home is having the Tahini on hand, but once you do it lasts several batches. I'm a chips and dip, grab and smash fiend, so making my own hummus at home and working in some veg as dippers has gone a long way in changing up my diet over the years.

That reminds me of something my wife used to make, haven't had it in a long time.

Take a block of cream cheese and spread it out a bit on a plate. Empty a packet or two of those little cocktail shrimp you find near the canned tuna and then dump cocktail sauce over the top of it all. Serve with crackers for dipping.

It's a whole lot better than it sounds. Very simple to prepare and gets gobbled up.

Yes, that one is simple and delicious. Hardest part is remembering to take the cream cheese out of the fridge beforehand so it is easier to spread.
