Here it is, folks. Read between the lines. This is as close as you get to Trent Green saying "Alex Smith sucks."

Doesn’t matter. Reid is standing by his man.

I would bet all of Andy Reid’s punchcards from Old Country Buffet that Mahomes doesnt see the field this year.

its easier said then done man. Look at that safety, its right there running up on Kelce. It was a quick bang bang play to at the first down marker. I thought the same oh he is wide open but the safety just let him go because the ball was already out. Wilson should have caught the ball, thats the only thing that makes it seem like. If you are trying to get first down and your first read is open you throw it and get the first down. It wasn't even a drop back and read the field kinda play.

Plus Kelce still hadn't broken out when the ball was thrown. Blame Andy for that I guess. But regardless if Wilson caught it was probably first down as it was close to the marker.

Who cares what CTE has to say? Reid is smart, he knows Chiefs don’t stand a chance so he’s waiting for Mahomes 2018.

That's the kind of thing Smith gets blamed for here, when the play was executed correctly. He has plenty of actual flaws without people making new ones up. The design of the play is on Reid.

Nope, the safety was a good 12 yards off Wilson and Kelce had started his break. When the safety committed to Wilson all Smith had to do was throw to the open area he just vacated. Look for the 6'6" guy, Alex!

If we'd had Green on the early Reid teams that featured a healthy Hali/Houston duo, Jamaal Charles etc... we'd have an AFC championship at a bare minimum, and quite possibly more

I couldnt care less about what Green thinks, and why should we?

1. More NFL experience than all of us combined.
2. NFL experience directly at QB as a starter.
3. Best QB to be in KC since Montana.
4. Years of breaking down plays as both an analyst and a player.

Dunno.... I'm more apt to care what Green thinks over some talking head at ESPN, "writer" at bleacherreport, or even his fellow announcers (see Costas and Buck).

Depends on which Alex Smith you get.

If Alex gets a competent OL and run game to balance things, advantage goes to Smith. The mobility alone would get him that edge.

Trent Green lost a playoff game despite his run game having 196 yds and 2 TDs.

That's remarkably damning.. and something that would not happen to Smith.

... but really, what difference does it make at this point?

I don't think so. I think they will remember saying "wow! Who knew?" Every time the Chiefs are nationally televised and they put Alex up there with Rogers and Brady on most wins in the last 4-5 years.

The only thing people remember about Trint is Rodney Harrison snapping his leg in the first ten minutes of the Kurt Warner documentary.

The truth hurts.

He put up 400 yards passing and 45 fucking points (https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200410310kan.htm) to beat the Colts at Arrowhead in 2004, which was the encore from the no-punt playoff game in which he was the only member of the offense that didn't make a dumb mistake like a dropping a TD or fumbling or missing a FG.

Are you buttfucking kidding me?

The Chiefs had the #31 defense that season.

They lost games in which the offense scored 31, 31 and 24 points.

They had the #1 offense. It was a fucking Super Bowl caliber offense that was actually BETTER than the offense the year prior that earned them a 13-3 mark and the #2 seed.
