Oh I think so!

Now that you all have them in and near KC (https://www.google.com/search?q=marco%27s+pizza+kansas+city+area&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=39116798,-94635700,13838&tbm=lcl&ved=0ahUKEwjs35Cjv-nXAhXL5YMKHcdrDS0QjGoIUw&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e3!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:4&rldoc=1#rlfi=hd:;si:;mv:!1m3!1d117630.75592040348!2d-95.05468834999999!3d39.116798349999996!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i548!2i114!4f13.1;tbs:lrf:!2m1!1e3!3sIAE ,lf:1,lf_ui:4) - have you tried? For those of you in the SE have you tried Jet's Pizza yet?

Which other 'off the radar' pizza chains have you been too?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco's_Pizza

Just Ordered 3 medium 2-toppings

#1 - Thin, Hamburger + Onion
#2 - Thin, Canadian Bacon + Mushroom
#3 - Thing, 1/2 Canadian Bacon, Mushroom - 1/2 beef, jalapenos

I know they were never delicious - but I absolutely DO miss Pizza Inn and Mazzio's.

We had a Pizza Inn here in Atlanta off 285 until around (I'd Say) 94ish. I remember dad clipping the coupons out of the Blue Springs Examiner for the Pizza Inn deals.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dChE48xt1Z0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Not sure I ever tried - Ken's. Ken's anyone?

Maybe Joplin or Carthage - not sure.

Never had Marco's, but we have Jet's Pizza (I believe they're MI based). I honestly have to be in the mood for Jet's, it's not a style of pizza I normally go for. The fellas at my barbershop eat the fuck out of it though.

The rare time I order deep dish - Jet's

Almost everywhere else I order thin. Jet's deep dish is the bomb

Of course you're in Chicago - so that in and of itself is a game changer.

I've never had their thin, I should try it. I kind of view their deep dish as more like a super pan pizza, which is why I have to be in the mood for a really bready pizza. But if that's what I'm craving it hits the spot for sure.

Never been into the italian meats much - I guess it's because when we'd go out - growing up - Minsky's and Funhouse - mom and dad always got Beef and Ham - not sure why - so unconventional.

My first experience with Marco's was in Cleveland for work. It was right across the street from my hotel room. I ate there a lot when I didnt feel like getting out and had it delivered to room. I really thought it was pretty good cheese seemed fresher than comparable chains like PH.

We have had one in Gladstone for a while now and if you order carryout you get a free movie rental from Family Video. My only concern is they changed the sausage and it went from the small rabbit pellet style to a big chunk style that is spongy texture and has no flavor.

That's dog food.

If ever in Cincy, try Larosa's. A family member in each location per founder.

I ordered 25 pizza's to be delivered to a hotel courtyard. They sent 5 pizza's every 5 minutes. When they made their last run they asked if we needed more and delivered 3 more. gratis!

If in Indiana "Ring the King" Pizza King. They have over 60 locations and they raise and process their own ingredients. Make the cheese, grow the veggies, can their own tomatoes. They even cure their own Pepperoni.

I do enjoy Marco's every now and then. Closest one to me is 20 minutes away, so it's usually a dine-in for us. And they don't skimp on cheese. I also like that their ordering system includes a way to order it "well done."

I also miss Mazzio's. Was one of the only places left that did Canadian bacon instead of ham (**** ham).

I really like Godfather's pizza but they think their shit is worth $20 a pie and that's just not so. Had Casey's a few months ago for a birthday thing with my dad. I ate 3 pieces and breadsticks and I felt like death the entire rest of the day. The amount of cheese on those things is ungodly.

Still would smash some Casey's right now, but you just have to know you're really gonna pay for it later. Their breakfast pizza is the truth. Damn that's good.

You'll never guess...

Little Caesars, dont laugh I'm serious... last weekend mom ordered a thin crust with ham, bacon, sausage, mushroom and onion

Didnt know they had a thin crust because I never eat there, ever... but it was actually damn good, I dig their sauce

Wichita has a Marco's Cantina which is Mexican fare. Great portion size and value. Every time I miss a day of work I always lunch there.

We do have a couple Marco's Pizzas as well, I think all of them are packaged with Family Video. I get pizzas from the Bel Aire one every now and then since it's pretty close to my apartment, and it's not bad. You can get a 2-topping large for like $9 and it tastes pretty good

I'd put it behind our local pizza places in Wichita (Knolla's, Gambino's), but it's not bad by any means

I was eating Godfathers in the mid 70's when they were in western Omaha . (99 st just off I-80) and the quality was always great, 10-5 years later I thought it started sucking ass more and more but coupons kept me coming back as sometimes they made a great pie. Other than that why eat Godfathers when there's Minsky's?

Some of the best KC pizza I ever had came from Sutera's in the bottom's, NKC, or Brookside. Home of the "take out pizza with the corners missing". The best location was in Westwood. I went there often and as much as me and Westwood's finest don't get along , I would risk sneaking through Fairway to get there.

I see now where there is one in western Shawnee and has been for many years.. I never knew it was there as Tanners gets my money when I am in the area, if someone's tried it, please report?

I'm doing a spin on a classic margherita today on the Kettle Pizza. Fresh tomato sauce (that I just made - DOP tomatoes drained, garlic, oregano, oil, S&P; not cooked). In place of the fresh basil, I'm using some pesto, dot with diced up sun-dried tomatoes, and some good mozzarella. After it's cooked, a little drizzle of some aged balsamic. Also doing a classic pepperoni.

What? How is provel not a cheese?

No FMB is full of shit on this one, Technically when you blend cheeses together it becomes a processed cheese product. Provel is made from a mix of white cheddar, Swiss, and provolone cheeses and cannot truly be considered cheese. It's real cheese but blended together.

The next step down would be Pasteurized process cheese, followed by Pasteurized process cheese food, then Pasteurized process cheese spread. Non of the Pasteurized products are considered cheese.

Provel is real cheese and not a Pasteurized product like Velveeta which is really not cheese at all and is labeled as a "Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product". Products with this label may contain MPC's (milk protein concentrate, a highly processed concentrated milk protein) It can be made from a single cheese (solid, or powdered), or a blend of several cheeses. Cream, milk fat, water, salt, artificial color, oils (for consistency and texture), and spices may also be added.

Learn about IMO's and Provel cheese here: http://www.stltoday.com/lifestyles/food-and-cooking/provelology-the-study-of-a-made-up-cheese-with-a/article_d033b816-b856-5d5c-a8ca-a3c6592db4f0.html

Not my first rodeo. This works. You drain the tomatoes, so that helps with the wateriness. And the high heat from the Kettle Pizza will reduce and thicken the sauce. It’s a method I learned about from ATK and it works.

I am going it sober. I have no real reason why but I am too lazy to go to the store tonight and IN doesn't sell on Sunday except at the source....If it gets to bad I'll head for the brewery for some scotch ale and take my ribbing from the Viking fan manager.

I just have some things do after the game that require some sibilance of sobriety, like 40 ft ladder sober...

Didn't care much for Leo's years back (tried it once) and yet I liked Northern Lights pretty well. It took forever for delivery to Pleasant Valley and their thin crust sucked when put in a bag and steamed for 45 minutes. I think their ingredients are really good but slightly stingy. Mine never looked like that! They buy all their meats instead of processing their own or using the crap that pizza supply houses petal. It is better quality than most or was.

I've had both. I'd get Leo's and tell them light provel and it would be a nice Imo's substitute when craving that style of pizza.

Northern Lights was OK, decent Midwest style pizza.

One of the worst pizzas I've had in KC was from Judge's north of the river. Just a basic, flavorless pizza.

U-Gene's in Riverside and by the airport on the other hand, was my 2nd favorite pizza in KC. They had a Friday special of a large cheese pizza for $9.99 and it was NY style foldover greatness.

When I was there a few years ago, U-Genes was up the road from Red X, across from Corner Cafe. There was also one off an airport exit but it was more like a restaurant attached to a gas station. They make some really good sandwiches as well.

Canadian bacon, mushrooms, Italian sausage, green peppers and anchovies. If no anchovies, then I'd sub Black olives.

Cracker crust with spicy sauce. My hack is to ask for pepper flakes to be sprinkled on the sauce before the cheese and toppings. A lot better that after it's cooked.

Yes extra cheese - their cheese is noticeably better than the other chains.
