Found this on Reddit, pretty helpful little thing:

I think that, according to this chart, it's decided as an incompletion at this point:

Based on the ruling on the Hunt catch last night, the refs made the right call in the squeelers game today

but to me the ground caused the bobble.

It cannot cause a fumble but negate a TD????

the ball hit the ground doesn't even get out of the first two boxes in the flow chart.

Apparently the receiver must retain possession throughout the catch. I thought that when the ball crossed the line, the play was over. Who the fuck knows anymore

If it was a hand off like the QB receiving from the center on a QB sneak where all the QB or RB has to do is break the plane showing possession then yes. BUT it was a pass and that is 'key' here so the player must show possession all the way through especially if he is on the ground. Obviously James had possession when he broke the plane with the football BUT it was a pass in which he was on the ground and lost momentary control as the ball hit the ground. No doubt a technicality that ripped off the Steelers but it was by the rule so did the Steelers really get ripped off ??

Commercial spoof-and awareness to the NFL that THEY SUCK.

The problem is consistency. While Hunt's hand came off the ball, he maintained possession with the other hand and should have been a td. If it were gronk, or some other player on a big name team, they would have called it a td. I guarantee that if the squeelers were playing the browns today, that would have also been a td. Shit like this is why the NFL is losing credibility with its fans.
