It was a big game for the Chiefs when Dick Enberg was on the call in the 90s.

One of my favorite Enberg calls:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/73dW4740ILE" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

His voice cracks on "Look at him rumble" as if he can't believe what he's watching.

RIP

My best Chiefs memories involve Dick Enberg and Bob Trumpy calling games in the early 90s, most notably the '94 Divisional Game against Houston.

The Jamarr Charll Game was also called by Enberg, and he was an enjoyable baseball broadcaster to listen to, doing Padres games at least through 2016, IIRC.

The sports world has lost a good one.

He and Trumpy were awesome together. He had a nice blend of informative commentary and emotional investment in his play by play while Trumpy offered the staunch analysis and accurate characterization to the events unfolding on the field. It was always refreshing to hear Mr. Enberg call a game.

RIP good sir. Thanks for the memories.

For those who don't know the chiefs were having a shit year. The last game in denver like idiots fans still watch. We all knew Jamaal Charles was a beast and a half but this game he went off. Charles was FAST just a smidge below Tyreek Hill and Deven Hester (those two look fast on video at-least) so the last game with nothing on the line Chiefs beat Denver and EmBurg was already loosing it (Which we all do) and on a big run instead of saying JC name correctly he goes "Jammmarrr Charl" which cracked most people up. The last game didn't sum up that year at all because going into the offseason it felt like we went out winning.

Lots of Chiefs memories with Enberg calling the games with Trumpy...

But as simple as the call was, I think my favorite is Payne Stewart's winning putt at the 1999 US Open.

Enberg was one of the greats, like Al Michaels, one of those guys who could call anything. Football, baseball, tennis, golf, the olympics, I think he did the major horse races for a while... lots of memories of that voice.

Same for me. Gowdy and DeRogatis are the voices I always think of when Chiefs play Raiders. Emberg was good but Trumpy was biased IMO

Never the less RIP Dick a golden voice of the past.

Enberg was the NBC announcer for so many of the Chiefs’ big games during the 1990’s.

He somehow made the likes of Bob Trumpy, Phil Simms, and Paul Maguire tolerable as his analyst announcing partners.

DeRogatis had esp. He predicted what was coming better than any announcer it seemed.

This.

I ran into him at the 06 Final Four in Indy. He was walking around aimlessly lost in the block party Sunday eve. He had a full suit on with a handkerchief in his blazer pocket, and was walking in circles confused
