It seems like Alvin Kamara of the Saints has a lot of the national buzz for Offensive Rookie of the Year... but what about our friend Kareem?

ALVIN KAMARA:
Part of platoon with Mark Ingram
728 rushing yards, 6.1 avg, 8 TD
81 receptions, 826 yards, 5 TD
1 kickoff return for TD
1 lost fumble

KAREEM HUNT:
Won 2017 NFL rushing title (that's when you get the MOST rushing yards of ANYONE)
Put the whole damn running game on his BACK
1,327 rushing yards, 4.9 avg, 8 TD
53 receptions, 455 yards, 3 TD
1 lost fumble

So... who should win OROY?!?!

Kareem since he wasn't platooning with someone else. Kamara is going to be fun to watch for years to come, but Hunt gets this over him.

See, this is why it baffles me that it's even a debate. Kamara had the benefit of having a very good veteran running back to split carries with. He had a great season, sure, but he didn't have the pressure to perform that Hunt did.

I would love to see Kareem win but I think it's gonna be Kamara. He had a KO return for a TD and another TD this past weekend. If hunt just had a better 5 games where he was average and not disappear, he would have won.

He could but probably not.

I disagree. I think Kareem wins it and deserves it. But Kamara has a strong case. If people are thinking he gets OROY as a rb, they dont understand his value. Kareem is a rb who catches rb passes. Kamara is a legit receiver. If we're talking difference maker, new Orleans offense takes a huge step back. He does so many things to keep a defense off balance.

If only Kareem didn't have that little 5 game or so lull that he had in the middle of the season.

You can make an argument for either.

I think the big argument for Kamara is going to be that he was only 200~ scrimmage yards behind KHunt and scored 2 more TD's on 124 fewer touches.

Kamara would be broken if he had Hunts work load.

I have. He is good. Not sure he would be as good if he were to have to shoulder the majority of the work load. To me, thats what this award is about. Id vote for Hunt all day.

I totally agree.

Kamara would be broken if he had Hunts work load.

And hunt would never be able to do the things Kamara does when split out as a receiver. They're two totally different backs. Both big time difference makers.

Hunt carried the load, Kamara did not... easy call for Hunt

I'm sure Kamara is a very talented difference maker, but the fact remains that he's essentially a role player in the Saints offense, whereas Hunt carried the entire running game (while also being a factor in the passing game, albeit not to the same extent as Kamara).

Kamara is more than a role player. I think people are seeing him as a gadget player. He is a legitimate receiver who runs actual receiver routes. He's arguably a slot receiver who plays a lot of running back. His merit shouldn't be judged on power workload anymore than Charles' impact shouldn't have been minimalized because he split snaps with Thomas Jones. Again, I'd give oroy to hunt but it's very close. We can't compare the two as running backs because that's hugely understating what Kamara does.

Rushing crown is the bigger achievement in my opinion. His name is forever etched up there with guys like Emmitt, Barry, Dickerson, Tomlinson, Payton, Allen, and Campbell. How many OROY did those guys win? Yeah, exactly.

I love Kareem but give me kamara

I’m an avoid tackles over breaking tackles kind of guy and kamara looks like he’s got that Charles type ability to make guys angles look dumb

Hunt was carrying the ball and put those numbers up behind a patch work offensive line for most of the season. Did anyone notice that his numbers went back up when Morse got hurt and Witzman sat down?
