Next on the evaluation list is Mr. Winchester. Let's take a long look at our long snapper.

Poll coming faster than a 3 and out on a critical playoff drive.

Winchester appeared in all 16 games this year and forced a fumble.

Sure, but were the laces up?

Gave him an A, liked what he did this year. Would still trade for a bottle of Pibb because longsnapper.

Kendall Gammon was right when he said that that best thing a parent can do for a child is to teach him how to long snap. Those guys have amazingly long careers if they do it well, and no ever knows their name.

It's also the most attainable job if you're just an average joe. But, only 32 of them available. Not sure how you scout that position very thoroughly.

I would like to see more production after the snap during punts. Some forced fumbles and maybe a recovery for a TD. Winchester needs to step it up in 2018.

Don't they still get CTE though?

And will they still know their own name in their 50's?

There is almost NEVER a collision for a long snapper.

In fact the rules prevent most contact with them...

He's a good kid. Keep him.

So they don't practice blocking even?

I cant think of a snap that led to a botched field goal, or poor punt... therefore he got an A+

I bought a Mr. Pibb last night because of these posts.

Winchester makes the Chiefsplanet honor roll. Good grades, slight positive surprise, we want to see a larger role, and he's still ascending. We would require a second-day pick to trade him.

3.87 Grade (4.0 point scale)
0.32 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
1.05 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
0.14 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
3.14 Trade Value (Round)

I guess I just wanted a much smaller role, i.e., less punts and FGs, more TDs.

The guy always seems to be around the ball on punts. I remember him making a few tackles this year. Forced fumbles and TD recoveries are what your gunners are for. Solid performer.
