You may recognize Terrance for his work on special teams this year, with occasional defensive appearances.

Terrance appeared in 15 games this year, and made 1 start on defense. He recorded 5 tackles and 1 assist, had 2 passes defensed, and made one ricochet interception for 7 yards.

Every year, we have some linebacker who's really strong on special teams, and I wonder why he can't crack the starting lineup. Then that linebacker eventually gets cut and I wonder how the rest of his life goes.

Terrance is kind of the 2017 version of that, but not quite as strong. I view him as similar to Ramik, in that he moves well, but he's probably too light to be a starting linebacker.

With Terrance, I kind of figure that he'll be a special teams linebacker for us, and then someday he won't. I'm fine keeping him on the team until that day comes.

staylor26 and I think he's really nice.

Actually, I'd say he's definitely worth keeping. He's not exactly going to find an incredible deal anywhere else.

Didn't he have a few really stupid penalties?

Like Gary Stills.

Smith was an absolute liability in 2016 when we lost DJ. If he has special teams value, fine. But if he ends up in a game, we're in trouble.

Like Gary Stills.

Oh, man. What did Gary do?

He's one that I always figured was a special teamer due to size, though.

Some of the guys that I liked were more ILBs who hit like trucks - DJ Alexander and Cory Greenwood and William Kershaw. What happens to those guys when they finish their 2-3 year run destroying people on special teams?

Managed to appear in almost every game, and made a few plays highlighted by the pick

Who? If he couldn't crack the lineup with all the injuries, or just to let Dirty Dan have a breather, I don't think we need him.

Terrance on average was a bit disappointing to people, and they want to see a smaller role for him going forward. But that's not atypical of our less visible backups.

He's seen as having reasonable trade value, though.

1.88 Grade (4.0 point scale)
-0.91 Performance Relative to Expectations (+ = Positive Surprise, - = Negative Surprise)
-0.67 Desired Future Role (+ is larger role, - is smaller role)
0.00 Ascending/Descending (+ is ascending, - is descending)
5.73 Trade Value (Round)
