Even after he killed that guy and offed himself in prison? That’s pretty open minded of the Chiefs.

Are you serious?

The #2 all-time reception leader does not deserve any hall of fame created?

A worthy representative of the Chiefs. He played the game with passion. I remember some years it seemed like Tony G was the only one playing hard out there on Sundays.

Hoping he makes the Falcons Ring of Honor as well within the next couple of years. The team he retired with, gave him his only playoff win, and didn’t trade him away.

Kept himself in great shape and played on shit teams. Deserves every ounce of pussy he got/gets and awards. Honestly if some guy bald, goatee, and a "refuse to loose Chiefs 2001" shirt rolls up on you wearing Bruit I would tell them to fuck off as well.

Absolutely. A no brainer

Always conducted himself like a professional. Stayed in great shape and and was amazingly durable

The guy was a great Chief and deserves to be on the ROH. I wasn't happy with the way he left KC, but that's life.

My favorite season with Tony G was when Tyler Thigy was throwing him the ball. He seemed like the only player out there that gave a damn.

It's so sad to think of all the players we have in the ring of fame, who never experienced a playoff win.

I had no problem with Tony leaving for Atlanta. He wasn't going to win anything here. At least he didn't go to the Donks.

Tony didn't ask to be traded, if I remember correctly.

Pioli power play.

I thought he asked repeatedly to be traded.

He asked Carl the year prior. I was just reading about it.

I couldn't find a report that says he asked in 2009, but trading the team's biggest star to swing your big Patriot Way tool around seems like a Pioli move to me.

I'm perfectly fine blaming Pioli about it. I just thought Tony had asked.

I find it interesting that we still have Anthony Sherman on the team as an indirect result of the trade.

Did he even win a playoff game for Falcons? I don't remember him winning shit there either.

I think he won one, because the Falcons chiefed it up pretty bad and blew a lead at the end, but then somehow pulled off an antichiefian miracle to pull it back out, and Tony was in tears after the game.

Tony had an interesting career in KC. I tend to associate him with the strong teams of the 90s, but he was only with the 1997 team among Marty's playoff teams. He's really more of a Vermeil guy in terms of playing time on good teams, but spend more than half his career playing for bad coaches on bad teams. His timeline spans multiple Chiefs eras.

Mark Donovan said today that this Thursday's game will be the Chiefs Legends game. Tony Gonzalez will be inducted into the Chiefs Ring of Honor at halftime.
