Not really seeing anything better on this afternoon at 2 central time, I suppose it'll be decent background noise as I putter around here doing some laundry and cooking

Currently watching these high school kids play flag football on the ABC pregame show... it will probably be more entertaining than the main event, lol

Frankly, I'll just take a guy who can play outside of a 15-play script and close out games. I'll take a guy who isn't afraid to take chances in critical moments, or throughout the course of the game. You're not winning anything if you don't make those throws anyways.

Where's the consistency? You can't even count on him to be the same QB from quarter to quarter, let alone game to game.

Keep pumping those stats, hopefully Dorsey or Keim falls for that nonsense... but I'm not. Most actual Chiefs fans aren't.

He had a career year with an elite supporting cast, and even then how many of those TDs were shovel passes? Screen passes? I'm just saying... the guy had the easiest QB gig in football this year, probably.

No one is (or at least should be) expecting Patrick to actually save the entire team. Again, a good defense is necessary. You need a solid group around the QB on offense. Good coaching is critical.

But the point is that this move does change a lot. Going from a QB who needs a great supporting cast to be elevated to a QB who by all account elevates his teammates around him is a HUGE DEAL. What reason do we have to believe that won't continue for Patrick? He did it in college, he did this year when he played...

The team has shortcomings, they all do in certain areas. Well good news, we might finally have a QB who can make up for at least some of those issues. That's something the Chiefs just haven't had. Maybe that's why they've failed time and time again?

And if Patrick can't be that guy, well... at least they finally tried to do it the easier way. But for my money... he is that guy.

I'm not putting numbers on those kinds of things in January. Sorry bro. Don't really care.

I'll tell you this though. I've got zero reason to believe that Patrick won't put in the necessary work to be great, and he is in fact inheriting one of the better offensive situations I can recall for a young QB in a long time. Once a dumbass always a dumbass

#1 rated QB

You keep bringing up the same stats over and over again.

Again, it was an outlying statistical career high season for Alex. And there were several factors which made that so.

We got really good QB PRODUCTION, more so than really good QB PLAY.

Our receivers led the league in separation per completion. Alex was 40th out of 41 QBs in percentage of throws into tight windows. And he was bottom 10 in air yards per attempt again.

He finally threw for over 3500 yards & 23 TDs (barely, wow 3 more TDs for an amazing 26 TDs!) mainly because Tyreek Hill is the best deep threat this league has seen in awhile now (Which is why Alex led the league in passer rating on deep balls...because Tyreek was WIDE open nearly every time), he had the best TE in the game, he had an elite running game, he had an above average OL, he had the new wrinkles of the RPO, and he had that hot 5 game start that skewed his numbers for the whole season.

And again, fuck your overrated, outdated passer rating statistic. If Alex was #1 or near the top in passer rating every year than that would be different...but he's not. It was an outlying year. And he still only finished 9-7 and was 0-5 in game winning drives. Shitty on 3rd downs. Shitty in the redzone. Shitty in the intermediate part of the field. Shitty when it mattered.

Also, Nick Foles led the league in passer rating one year...Plus he has more playoff wins this year than Alex Smith has as a Chief in 5 and just made a Super Bowl. FOLES >>>> ALEX

Or constantly failing on game winning drives?

Or consistently being terrible on 3rd downs?

Or consistently being terrible in the redzone?

Or before this year, consistently having the worst production throwing down the field?

Or including his career year, always being one of the bottom QBs in air yards per attempt?

Or including his career year, always being one of the very bottom QBs in throwing into tight windows?

What are the rational explanations for all that over the span of his 13 year career?

Or consistently being terrible in the redzone?

Or before this year, consistently having the worst production throwing down the field?

Or including his career year, always being one of the bottom QBs in air yards per attempt?

Or including his career year, always being one of the very bottom QBs in throwing into tight windows?

What are the rational explanations for all that over the span of his 13 year career?Lack of testicles.

JFC I can't wait until he's traded so this nonsense can go away and we can get back to the real problem. The coach.

If I lived in Chicago, it would be a point of absolute emphasis to find hidden little spots along Lake Michigan every single chance I got... and when that wasnt doable, to at least go down to the park there along the waterfront

That would honestly be the only way to keep me sane living in a city like Chicago... even if you're not the outdoorsman type, just getting away from the madding crowd and sitting around a fire would do wonders IMO

This is why we can't have nice things

We do

We have mahomes as QB

Thats awfully nice. This next upcomung season will be the most exciting season in 15 years.

I know you and your crew of tards dont get that...but you have to be a Chiefs fan and actually love the team to understand this. You guys who are merely trolls arent expected to fully grasp this.

But nonetheless, it most assuredly is a 'nice thing'

Me as well.

But I sense a lot of people here have invested a lot in their focused hatred, which will be a huge hole in their lives when he is.

Question then will be where the focus of their hatred will go then. Daily updates of his activities [failures naturally] with his new team? Goading and banning the wrong kinds of fans? Just general unfocused dipshittery?

your so right, this team is setup for the SB next year after getting rid of that bum.

I say we don't lose next year, the D is gonna be way better with Pat and his arm. I don't see any reason we cant run the table with Andy and Sutton at the helm as they are the best dam game planners in the NFL.

Will be great to have a qb that makes everyone better and puts the team on his back and takes us to the promised land! Screw the stats and making the playoffs, I want excitement and a SB, period...

The only all-star game worth watching is the MLB All-Star game, just because of the physical nature of each sport.

There will be a select few that hate Mahomes. They Will mostly likely be leftover trolls from the alex only fan group.

But for the chiefs fans it’s going to be the most excited we have been in decades. I’m so glad the wasted season of 2017 is over. 2018 is almost upon us.

Smith had the best team in history and shit it all away because he refused to improve.

But Mahomes just needs to work hard and try his best with all our limitations. If it doesn't work, because Chiefs, at least we tried.

But he's so good it can't fail, . . . unless it does, . . . but it won't, probably.

I too believe he will work hard. I also think he is human.

Question is, do 'pathetic excuses' return to being 'rational explanations' in Chiefs land going forward when there are inevitable stumbles? After 10+ years of evidence?

IMO, when most guys have another outlet for their thoughts (different team board) they wont linger nearly as much around here helping to stir the pot... its a two way street, really

Those who hate his guts, and those who love him to the point of following his career around the league are both guilty in this ongoing debacle... but its the followers who tend to drive this thing IMO

Its often as if wanting more from our team makes us lesser fans, and why cant we all just shut up and accept Smith... truth is there are more Chiefs fans trying to respectfully stay in the middle of this debate, than there are guys who love to tweak the other extreme every chance they get

Yet even you doctors and lawyers out there can only DREAM of the life Smith gets to lead... so stop being so damn protective of him, that guy and his family are the 1%

This is the kind of stupidity that seperates morons like you and Lee and tigger from everyone else.

Those arent the only options. Literally no one is claiming we will run the table or even have a better than 10-6 record next season. You dont even understand why people are so excited..

Because youre morons. Its not about the record next year. Its the future of the team....and playoff hope for YEARS.

To frame the argument how you and tigger and lee frame it is to show a complete lack of understanding of the chiefs...and the nfl in general

10-6 and a playoff bounce?

Mahomes could of achieved that. And pretty sure he could of beat Tennessee.

On this we disagree vehemently. And for evidence, just read this thread. Pages and pages of the PRO-BOWL focused by the 'innocent extreme' pouring out their derision on Alex's every move, glance, mutter and breath. But the bullshit backlash didn't make a peep until I said something about Carr sucking too.
