Think of all the out of work "Grid Girls", "Walk on Dart" girls". Dart models have raised over 39K signatures, I'd sign on for "Grid Girls too. I guess Vegas showgirls are next NAW!!!!!

This is at just one agency. Where is the humanity, these girls need to eat too. Some of the are ****ing hot too.

F! is really going downhill. I have been a huge fan of F1 for the last 40 years. The best years were the early 90's. Now no grid girls? They ditched the refueling a few years ago. The Turbo engines sound horrible. I went to the F1 in Austin last October and I was not impressed. Not enough cars on the grid. These new F1 owners doing away with the grid girls is another step backwards.

Furious Formula 1 'grid girls' who were fired from their jobs say they've 'lost important income because feminists think they know best'

Formula 1 grid girls have been told to leave motor sports, but they're making one last stand on social media.

Just a few days after the Professional Darts Corporation banned its walk-on girls, Formula 1 followed the same path by banning the use of promo models, commonly called grid girls, commencing with the start of the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season.

The role of grid girls is to conduct promotional tasks on behalf of blue chip sponsors. They wear clothing bearing the name of the sponsor, interact with the crowd, and carry driver name boards on the grid.

In a short statement on the Formula 1 website on Wednesday, commercial operations director Sean Bratches said the custom of using grid girls "does not resonate with [the] brand values [of F1] and clearly is at odds with modern day societal norms."

"We don’t believe the practice is appropriate or relevant to Formula 1 and its fans, old and new, across the world," he added.

Now, the women who have been left out of work as a result are fighting back on social media.

Rebecca Cooper, a five time F1 grid girl, said on Twitter that it is "ridiculous that women who say they are 'fighting for women's rights' are saying what others should and shouldn't do, stopping us from doing a job we love and are proud to do. [It is] political correctness gone mad."

Cooper also implied that grid girls have been misrepresented and put together a photograph collage to highlight that women who work in her trade are not "scantily clad furniture" and that the outfits are more modest.

For Michelle Westby, working as a promotional model in motorsports led to a successful career as a stunt driver and a drift racing driver.

On Facebook, Westby said:

"If it wasn't for grid work / promotional modelling, I wouldn't be where I am now in a 'male dominated' sport and job as a stunt driver and drift competition driver, inspiring and influencing females into this 'intimidating male environment.' I get girls messaging me all the time saying how I inspire them and made them want to get into racing and drifting when they didn't think they would be accepted… What people don't realise, is that the girls have knowledge of the products and teams they are promotion — that's part of the job. We get a brief on the uniform but it's up to us if we feel comfortable in it. We are more clothed than what teenagers wear down the supermarkets. I'm now retired but to think girls have lost a lot of important income because feminists think they know best, when they really haven't got a clue, is frustrating."

The Formula 1 season begins on March 26.

You should check out the rest of the schedule... the road races aren’t as exciting as the high speed ovals(too me) but it’s still great wheel to wheel racing...more exciting than F1 in my book because there is more passing even on the road courses Indy drivers really go for it.

We drink it at the 500 as a tradition, We drank Effen* one year.(they had a car in 2006) it was like the first of the "luxury" vodkas before Fuzzy's and frankly, I can't tell much difference. I think they are priced about the same. If I buy good vodka, I buy the Fuzzy's, just cuz.,

*I still have my "I'd rather be EFFEN racing" tee shirt from 12 years ago.

One of my friends is tight with Carpenter (in the booze biz) and last year there was a 1.75 liter bottle of "100X" signed by Fuzzy and Ed, for the tent, the vodka was said to sell for $100. There were numerous bottles of regular Fuzzy's, and you could taste the difference. If you get a chance to try the "100X" go for it.

We start drinking at about 6AM as soon as the tents are up in the infield and go for about 10 hours. I don't ever recall any leftover Fuzzy's. We start back up about noon on Monday and normally need reinforcements.:D:D

Then again, we camp near the ladies facilities and give away a lot of drinks to the good looking ladies on a hot afternoon with next to nothing on....:D:D:D

If I am going to pay $50 for booze, I head for the Whisky, but I do buy Fuzzy's for $20-25 bucks and it's worth that.

I guess I will have to try the"Big Machine" vodka from Nashville, but I've never seen any yet.

I received a 2018 Fuzzy's / Ed Carpenter Racing promo package yesterday introducing the new driver Jordan King and Danica's final race with a couple of interesting pieces of swag.

Plus most race fans don't want to sit on the main straight for the GP. The PAGODA race ticket was for Saturday only at just over $200. I usually buy a penthouse ticket at $85 to have access to the Old PRESS PENTHOUSE section. I just bought it to see and go in the PAGODA. That's pretty much off limits for most. I probably won't even watch the race from there unless there is some outside access. My first Indy 500 was in 1979.

I was there as a guest of Monroe in 1978 in the Unser dynasty and sat in a Tenneco suite back in the early 80's. It is now known as Fuzzy's Turn 2 suites. I have never sat on a bench or in the fancy suites at IMS except during pit crew competitions and qualifying. I was inside the Fuzzy's suite in the Pagoda during qualifying last year and in 2011. The suite last year was the size of most houses.

This is me taken in the tower terrace seating that you might be in.:D

I used to do those deals at 24 hour races and just sleep on the suite. Most of the time they will bring you food through the night and breakfast. Camping is more fun...by the time you bought passes and food on top of seats, it was almost free to drink.

I like to party with 150K of my closets friends for a few hours, not sit in the stands with a sore neck. A suite at Indy is a interesting for the GP. I haven't heard back on our plans, all I know is we have one. I will look forward to your review of food and booze for future reference. We have 10" X 40" row of tents with a great view of the race just feet away for $25. We bring countless coolers of booze and food and even have a gal who is in charge of re"coop"ing some of the investment for the following day's hangover party.:D:D

Honestly I doubt I'll ever tire of looking at and flirting with the 20 to
30 somethings, cooking breakfast for the crew, catching a quick nap, and then 4+ hours of solid partying and fun, (oh, and there is a race going on too). I like to set up where I can see the cars come out of turn 2, down the straight, and midway through turn 3.
When I can no longer have fun with the masses, I may try one of the new stadium chairs they installed... Who am I kidding, **** that, I'll just sit at home and watch it on TV like everyone else and fall asleep in my recliner.:D

I'll load up the tent, cooler and the BBQ and wait outside the gate for the horn to blow at 6AM on Sat morning. For the GP you never know where you will be parked but you can go anywhere. for the 500 i'm always with 20 feet of previous years. Having people who are good friends/ bosses of the yellow shirts helps.

This was taken after doing a IDE ride along in 2012. It was a Christmas present and she has since bought me one for the road course. It was ****ing awesome even compares to the oval.
I am hoping one day before I can't pass the blood pressure check, my SO buys me the "200MPH Experience" run. And hopefully again with Andretti before he's to old to go that fast.
I have never met anyone who has either driven the car nor quacked up $3K+ for the 200MPH club.

I have Tony Stewart just miles away and Carpenter's team and his sponsors have been very nice to me. I am just a pe-on but they are great people. I volunteer at a lot of their events but sometimes feel I get the better end of the deal. I wish I was a big dog and could sit in Fuzzy's suite on race day but, as humbling as it is.... I take the scraps.

I will try to get pics posted in the near future.... right now I have had 2 cocktails and the SO had to drive me home.... That and she is looking at me cross eyed about flying out in the AM...long story...

She's racing for Carpenter, I need to behave myself. I doubt it is in good taste for me to ask why Ed Carpenter gave her a ride. I'd like to see the check GoDaddy wrote to make it happen. I already sense that it's more important that she leave in dignity, than to leave with a proper burial, so to say. INDYCAR like NASCAR does't want to lose it's female fans. We will morn the #13 car as it will probably be a total loss after the race.

She overall has done more for women getting involved in racing than any person or organization. My girls don't give a **** about the sport but they will watch the race until she's taken out. You have to admit she has been a draw to INDYCAR. NASCAR, maybe not so much. Even I don't watch that shit unless they turn left and right. ROFLROFLROFL

I have to state this (and it like a "Mission Impossible" tape will be deleted about 5 seconds after it's read) Danica has had a better career with heavier odds stacked against her than most. There are a long line of drivers who's career's had 0 INDYCAR wins. She did get a win in INDYCAR along with a handful (7) podium spots and 3 poles. Anything NASCAR was a failure with 15 top 10's out of 250 races and only 1 top 5. 0 trips to the podium.

There were others sent back into the minor leagues never to be heard from again, Where she, because she was the "girl" amongst, the boys stayed in the big leagues, being able, somehow, to go back and get GoDaddy to open the checkbook, must show that she is not as much of a bitch as we all thought.

I hope GoDaddy is on the hook for a new car when she makes the highlights of post 500 accidents.:D

Many of those wrecks were NOT caused by the cars, when you jam a car in a tough corner downdraft has little to do with it. In many cases excessive power overcame traction and drivers of all brackets lost there cars.

I call the new setups are great and I call that better racing, making it more driver vs the $$$$ spent in development by the big teams

The cars sound is horrible if compared to the old F1 sound, no more refueling thus eliminating more strategy, small field of cars, twenty this year. As always the Indy race is the best race of the weekend. I’m a fan. Nothing more exciting than 200 laps of racing on a 2.5 mile super oval at 220 mph!!!! There were crashes and a car on fire in pit lane but no serious injuries. And the captain Roger Penske won it from pit lane with the best strategy for his driver Will Power. What a day!!!

Sebastian Vettel had an idea something was wrong, but he didn't want to jeopardize anything, especially the safety of people at the track.

The four-time Formula One champion and current points leader saw the checkered flag come out on the 69th lap of Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, even though the race was scheduled for 70.

“I was a bit confused. I told (my team) I don’t think the race is over yet,” Vettel said. “Some of the marshals were already celebrating. ... I was just worried that people don’t jump on the track and start celebrating. We’re still going at full pace.”

The culprit was supermodel Winnie Harlow, who was handed the checkered flag and waved it early, signaling the end of the race. The cars, meanwhile, continued around the track for another lap, despite it not officially counting.

Harlow said she was just following instructions.

"IT WASN'T ME," she tweeted, accompanied by several emojis. "but I'm so grateful no one was hurt!"

he gaffe didn't have any impact on the race's outcome.

Vettel led from start to finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in picking up his third win of the season.
