No way Reid wins that game. He would have tried to nurse that lead and never would have made those aggressive play calls on fourth down.

This is the proof. Pederson is a super bowl caliber coach. Reid isn’t. And we are stuck with him because Clark has a man crush.

All I have to say is former chiefs backup qb, Superbowl mvp. Alex Smith paid like Matt Cassel. Because chiefs. At least we have Mahomes. May it break the curse.

I just told my wife that the Eagle won the Superbowl with a former Chiefs assistant coach and backup QB.

Even she facepalmed. It's sad how cursed this franchise is.

Gotta love how Pederson made sure to talk about staying aggressive. Something Andy doesn’t know how to do, even after all these years.

You would this Clark would feel a little embarrassment that the guy he turned the franchise over to can’t win or even hold a huge lead in the postseason, while people like Pederson and Foles immediately are championship caliber once they are out of Reid’s massive shadow

Going back to the Marty era, look at the # of future Super Bowl winning HC’s who have passed through the Chiefs organization as assistant coaches.

Bill Cowher, Mike McCarthy, Tony Dungy, and now Doug Pedersen

And meanwhile the Hunts’ franchise can’t even win a home playoff game.

Interesting 24 hours for Andy... his protege wins a Super Bowl in his 2nd year as HC (something Reid hasn’t done in nearly 20 years as a HC), the QB he originally drafted and then never gave a legit chance to compete with Alex Smith for the starting job in KC wins the Super Bowl MVP, and for good measure the WR he sided with his QB against in Philly made the HOF.

It’s especially sad when you remember that the Eagles had a few years of Chip Kelly doing his best to get rid of all their best players. Even after that they were more successful than Reid and Smith have been in KC.

Andy has lost home playoff games to Mike Mularkey and John Fox. LMAO

I fully expect Andy to continue playoff disappointment. It’s going to be magnified fully as time goes on. He’s become so good at it, too. I mean FFS the guy lost a playoff home game to John Fox and Jake Delhomme.

Losing to Jake Delhomme throwing for 101 yards is classic playoff fail Andy.

This game proves you don't need a first round QB to win. FA qbs are just as good. Looks like we wasted multiple first rounders

Andy Reid's primary (and only at this point?) redeeming quality is his ability to develop QB's.

That will be his main value in the immediate future with Mahomes.

It all starts at the top. While the owner doesn't play the game, they set the tone. Our ownership family has set the tone and the tone is clear, "Wins are great, but free money rules." Our current owner's measured and toned-down response in his recent interview says it all actually. When Reid and Sutton fuck things up again, because a tiger doesn't change its stripes, we 'll get another measured response full of excuses and hope for next year (so please buy season tickets).

I'd say that Reid and Sutton have their backs against the wall and will have to not act stupidly, but under Hunt that's just not the case. Hunt knows that by keeping Sutton that he has a built-in sacrificial lamb, or lambs, for next year. From claims that "It was Mahomes first year", to getting rid of Reid or Sutton (or both), Clark's preparing for next year's heartbreak season being handed to Chiefs fans.

Clark Hunt fired the man responsible for the personnel of this football team in John Dorsey. Dorsey had 5 full years to put together a Super Bowl roster and completely and utterly failed. The Chiefs lack depth at nearly every position and injuries to Ware, Berry, Ford, Conley, Wilson, et al, proved it.

The Chiefs were perilously thin at running back during the season, which is why they had to claim Akeem Hunt and cut and re-sign 100 year old CJ Spiller several times. Eric Murray and Daniel Sorenson, two below average players, had to step in for Eric Berry. Even though the Chiefs took a ROLB in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft, the Chiefs had to play Frank fucking Zombo for most of the season due to Dee Ford's injury. Conley tears an Achilles, Wilson steps in for a game, then he's injured, leaving the onus on DAT and Demarcus Robinson and they both suck ass. Allen Bailey is injured and replaced by a 6th rounder and a guy off the street.

This isn't the fault of Reid. Hunt did the right thing and fired Dorsey, who's replacement acquired several excellent players in an extremely short period of time in Butker and Ragland, with role players such as Akeem Hunt and KPL.

Hunt made the right decision and is proving that he wants to win a championship.

I'm sure he wants to win one, we all "want" to win a super bowl, but he's about the only person in a role to actually force the issue, and keeping Sutton when he was clearly making very bad decisions with the players he had is indefensible. By the time they realize it wasn't just the lack of talent on the roster that was pressed into service because of injuries (because our next man up isn't quite as good as they need to be), it's going to cost us yet another year. So next year's excuse might be that it was only the first year with the new crop of talent, we'll see. But there's a pattern coming from the Hunts:
