Interesting. Tamba is due a $1 million bonus if he’s on the roster tomorrow, March 1st.

Surely with the way things are going this guy is given his pink slip by the end of the day.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept him and gave him $1 million dollar bonus as a "Parting Gift" so that won't make a tumultuous week even more tumultuous.

Let him retire on his on terms or kick him to the curb.

Chief Northman
02-28-2018, 10:58 AM
I will get flamed for this, but whatever.

I think Tamba has been misused the last two seasons. We will never know how much injury factored in to his odd snapcounts. While there is no doubt there is little tread left on the tires, Ford was not available and Zombo was forced into situations he shouldn’t have been in. Tamba always struck me as a motor guy: he needs consecutive plays/series to setup offensive tackles, and then counter tendencies afterwards. The sporadic usage last season didn’t help his game, and as limited as he is now it could be argued he was more productive in spurts than Zombo or KPass, let alone a MIA Ford.

I still expect him to be cut, unless the brass really feel hamstrung by not being able to secure another OLB if indeed Ford is not in the plans.

Tamba is very much like a son to the Hunt family and the feeling is mutual.
After they helped get his mother to the US he basically stated he was forever in debt to the CHiefs and the Hunt family.

Tamba wont play anywhere else I doubt, so he is likely retiring soon. Maybe they are giving him the $1MM bonus so he can save face and retire on his own terms.

Speaking of Twitter, there are "fans" melting down at this move, saying they regret getting season tickets and that we're going 5-11 next year.

It's like they don't even realize he didnt get on the field last year, or do much of anything the year before.

I used to wonder about Derrick Thomas, what might have happened to his career if he hadn't had that wreck.

I guess that song is correct - "It's better to burn out than to fade away" - Neil Young

We'll never know, of course, but it would have been interesting to watch.

Tamba was a great Chief, probably the 3rd best OLB we've ever had and it saddens me to see it end. However it was apparent that he just couldn't perform any more, so I guess I'll just be there when his name goes up on the Ring. Thanks, Tamba.

Once the knees go, a rush specialist is basically toast. Dorsey gave him plenty of dinero where he'll live a comfortable life. He can basically screw around doing music or art or whatever he wants. He's not a kook, so he won't squander it all on a posse. Time for Passin' Yo to step up and claim that spot.

The sad part is that our defense was better one Hali started playing again. Even with no knees Hali was one of our better guys. It helps that Sutton didn't drop Hali into coverage like he did Houston.
