I also tried the Girl Scout Cookie Cereal the other day, and holy shit was it awesome as hell. Plus right now there are a bunch on new or limited editions out. I missed this one. I've only noticed St. Pat's LC, Chocolate FL, or Chocolate LC. I didn't know of this, but I'm not a fan of FF. But I may make an exception

Before I list my favorites, is there a worldwide Cracklin' Oat Bran shortage or is it just my store? Half the time or more, I look for it and it's the only empty shelf space in the entire cereal section. Is Cracklin' Oat Bran mined with child slave labor or something, because it's becoming very hard to get.

As for my favorite cereals, I was thinking about this the other day. I feel like we're in a dark age for cereal. There's no new cereal innovation going on. It's just the same old brands that have existed for 50 years. We need an innovator to come in and shake up that industry.

That said, my favorites are:

1. Cracklin' Oat Bran - Clearly the most flavorful cereal out there, though it comes with a high calorie cost. And for some reason it's harder to find than diamonds these days.

2. Apple Cinnamon Cheerios - Simple and effective.

3. Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries - The crunchberries really make the difference.

4. Honey Bunches of Oats - This is a legitimate adult classic cereal. It's got everything and the kitchen sink in there.

5. Fruity Pebbles - Yes, I recognize that it's essentially a big box of artificially colored sugar. It's tasty.

I was a peasant myself for awhile living with my mom.

No bullshit, there were days we used condensed milk from the can. We weren’t able to get regular milk while on food stamps.

Diabetic, so this may not be for everyone. I put 1 pouch of instant oatmeal in a bowl (any flavor you like - I try to use the 'low sugar' ones rather than the 'sugar free' stuff) I add 2 TBL of oat bran, 1 TBL chia seed and stir well. Add boiling water - a little extra - and stir well. I never notice any taste diff using this stuff, it's an easy fix-up for a lot of the things that ail me. The extra oatbran and chia will help your bowels - and the oatbran will help scour your blood vessels a bit, cuts down on your blood pressure & cholesterol.

If your cholesterol is pretty high you can grind flaxseed once a week or so - it goes rancid quickly so just make what you'll eat in a week - 4 or 5 Tsp - and add a teaspoon of the fresh flaxmeal to your daily stuff above. The oats+ flax will get your cholesterol fixed up pronto, I just don't really like the taste of flaxmeal so I only eat it when the doc points out that I'm a little high cholesterol again.
