[QUOTE=RippedmyFlesh;13458401]Matt Cassel: $61,639,057 So Matt Cassel in his career at USC threw a total of 20 completions for 192 yards for zero touchdowns and one interception, rushed 11 times for 32 yards, and was on the receiving end of one pass for 12 yards and turned it into $61 million!! When you look up the definition of the American Dream, Matt Cassel is it. Thanks in large part to the Hunt family!

I might lean toward Paul Hackett or Greg Robinson, but maybe this is a players-only discussion.

I also agree with others that it's hard to use the word 'hate' when a person is trying to succeed and is merely placed into a position where they can't. None of us would turn down the money that any of these players or coaches got, so I guess we'd all be hated too if we were in their positions. And as we know, we're all great people.

In reality, the players and coaches we should 'hate' are the ones who wasted their talent by being lazy or doing stupid stuff to damage their careers. A guy like Mike Bell really should be the most hated player in Chiefs history. A #2 overall pick who went to prison in the prime of his career for buying cocaine? That's a guy who deserves to be cast into infamy.

If you want to extend this to coaches Greg Robinson is a serious contender. The thread here going after him after the Indy playoff loss was brutal on a special level. I remember someone photoshopping his face on an old picture of a little naked Vietnamese girl running down a road away from the war. It got so bad some insisted some brakes be applied out of consideration for the man’s family. There is a special hate there for that man.

Remember, Cassel graded out perfectly!

I loved rooting against him, almost as much as Smith. With Cassel, you were guaranteed some high quality FAIL usually accompanied by shit-tastic passes and "old gazelle" attempts to run the ball.
Smith on the other hand skirted the line of competency to the point that many people became sadly invested in him. They spent hope capital that should have stayed in their wallets, so to that end I hated him even more because I knew he was an absolute path to nowhere.
He may be gone, but he has yet to pay the full price for his colossal wasting of everyone's time. And in Washington? The bill comes due.

Wasn't that the Plummer era in Denver, as well? Oooff. Brutal, all the way around. San Diego was even in the process of fucking it up between Rivers and Brees, IIRC...

Matt Cassel is a major reason why I stopped buying tickets from my boy dtebbe to Chiefs games (they were fantastic seats, as well. About seven rows back and a section over from where Blowfish sits). It was the playoff game against the Ravens in January 2011 that did me in. 70 yards passing for the entire game that day. I was done. D-U-N, done. Haven't looked back, either.

That said, I would totally come back reincarnated as Cassel. Never played QB in college, had a few decent to good years as an NFL starter, made the Pro Bowl a time or two, made millions doing it, is a Cali kid, married a smoking hot ex-volleyball player, will likely retire on a beach somewhere. Who wouldn't want to be that guy?

Never played QB in college, had a few decent to good years as an NFL starter, made the Pro Bowl a time or two, made millions doing it, is a Cali kid, married a smoking hot ex-volleyball player, will likely retire on a beach somewhere. Who wouldn't want to be that guy?

Throw in a concussion or two and some CTE on the side, and you've got a wonderful life!

Yeah, but you get to wake up every day and remember once again you're rich and married to a hottie! She can tell you that as she feeds you tapioca and wipes your butt to get your day started!

I've had at least one concussion, and I didn't get $64m in compensation.

I ain't mad at Cassel, there's been a few free agent QB busts, from Neil O'Donnell and Jeff Garcia to Matt Flynn and Brock Osweiler...but the thing about Cassel's stint is that it's always tied to a HC that didn't want him, Black Sundays/Save Our Chiefs, and a GM more concerned about looking for gum wrappers in between cutting/resigning mediocre safeties/TEs and watching a player commit suicide after murdering his baby momma.

Scott Pioli - inherits a 2-12 team with a #3 overall draft pick...leaves a 2-12 dumpster fire w/a #1 overall pick.

That's what I remember about Matt Cassel.

Well, that and Haley in his ass. And the hat. Oh my, the hat...

I bailed out early.

I watched as friends of mine got scholarships and slowly peeled off the program at different points.

By "the program" I mean NCAA wrestling.

Whatever you think is going on in basketball or football it's 10x that in wrestling...

I know, the NCAA is absolutely unwatchable at any level, it's so obvious - but how else is a poor kid from Anywhere, USA going to get his college paid for? You suit up and play the game.

Literally and figuratively.

Amazing how long his career has lasted. How does a crappy quarterback that never started in college make it this long in the NFL??? He was drafted in 2005. This will be his 14th season. How many first round quarterbacks or, to go further, how many top 5 quarterbacks who showed way more ability that Matt Cassel, have had much shorter careers?? I don't get it. There are way better options that Matt Cassel available to be backup quarterbacks.

I'm pretty sure that Hunt hires his GM's. Pioli was the idiot....and so are you for blaming the owner who hired the executive of the decade. Yeah, he failed. But to blame Hunt is beyond idioitic. He hired the consensus best GM prospect available. We all thought it was a great hire at the time.

Yes. We just traded up to 10 in the last draft for Mahomes. Hunt has fired 3 GM's in the interest of bettering the team. That's change. Carl was here for 20 years and never drafted a first round quarterback. You are acting as dumb with hate for Clark Hunt as SDH is about everything he posts. Clark is doing everything he can to help this team win. Anything more and he would be Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones. He hires the best GM's and let's them build the team.

Cool. Didn't know that you went to MU. I went 2 years. 90-91 and 91-92. Strange fact is, that's where I got my love for football. Those Tiger teams were awful. But I had season passes and went to every game with my fraternity. I was there for the famous 5th down game. I never really cared for football before. I never played, and never watched a game. But I learned about the game and started watching the Chiefs on Sundays. So maybe I'm just not as burned out as you. I've only been disappointed in the postseason for 27 years. lol. But I do see reason for optimism with this current regime and I like how Clark is doing things.
