We have a 1/4 mile long gravel driveway...

Every winter, the snow plow scrapes all the gravel off the driveway and into the grass. It is a major, time consuming clean-up project.

So what do you do for your customers to get the gavel back to its home?

Saw this on facebook:

Is it worth $350?

Do you have a better solution?

Thanks

LOL now I've seen everything. I want one.

For 20 years I've been hand raking the gravel that gets dropped in the yard when I blade the snow off my gravel driveway.

Just splurge and asphalt your driveway so you don't have to dick with rutting up your drive and replacing the gravel over time.

Flood the yard with antifreeze.

Your welcome.

That 100% is worth $350. Would take a day long project and turn it into an hour.

Other than asphalt, that would be worth it. Make the kid do it.

Next time someone in the area is doing a parking lot, tell them that if they have extra, you will pay them to do your driveway. Someone found the farmhouse and dad paid to have it done.

I became so frustrated I quit have my drive plowed. The rocks in the lawn were not worth it. Those gravel spinners work, the last plow guy bashed a wall and used one during clean up.

Run over it with the lawn mower and have it shoot it out.

Damn a 1/4 mi of gravel is not a driveway its a lane lol. I would wait for a hot summer day and do a chip and seal.

The posted video didnt look like gravel but there are a couple other that were and it did ok but slow going. Dont know that you would gain any benefit over a rake especially in the back department.

A property with that long a drive you surely have a tractor? Get a rake or brush attachment and your in business.

Run over it with the lawn mower and have it shoot it out.Effective, but comes with a level of danger. A few years ago I was doing some spring clean up of leaves, and a small piece of river rock had snuck out of a rock bed and was hiding under some leaves out back. When I hit it with the mower, it launched it towards the porch room and broke a window, flew all the way across the room, and broke another window on the other side.

Make the driveway wider and use a V plow to stop putting the gravel in the grass in the first place. When the snow melts, blade the ridges back across the drive.

Oh and mother fuck that manual labor for a few rocks on a 1/4 mile lane. Life is too short.

Just make sure that the lawn mower spout is aimed at an annoying neighbor's car and there is no issue.

you surely have a tractor

I have a semi circle 300 m long gravel driveway. I bought a little Ford 8N 1954 tractor with some attachments (plow, brush hog mower etc) 10 years ago and LOVE it. I think I paid ~$3,000. I don't know what I'd do without it.

I am no farmer, but I would think you can poke around and find something similar.

In the spring I "plow" the yard edge and move the gravel back on to the drive. Limited success.

Leave a couple inches of snow. Never ever let your blade touch a rock.

There is a video of it doing just that on Youtube. Also once again it looks like a pain in the ass and a rake would be faster.

As chainsaw and drop that bitch its a nocuous weed.

Update!

Rented a power sweep for the entire weekend for $80.

WORTH EVERY PENNY!

In 7 hours swept large amounts of gravel.

Unfortunately, still have 1/2 to go. It snowed this week so everything is covered this weekend...and supposed to rain next weekend.

I will be buying one before next spring.

Shindaiwa???? Never heard of them. Chinese?
