I wouldn't go as far as "fodder" but the Chiefs do have upcoming Minicamps, OTA's and workouts in which they'll definitely need more than 2 arms and most likely, draft or sign another developmental QB.

Spruce is most likely a camp guy that can learn the WCO and if anything, ends up on the Practice Squad at best.

I think McGloin has a better chance to make the 53 than Spruce although neither are a lock to make it to Training Camp.

This move should give the coaching staff a way to fairly assess the WR group this offseason from practice tape.

Henne and McGloin aren’t starters, but they will be able to run the offense in practice and help the WRs, backs and OL.

Not sure why this WR was signed, but I trust these guys to know what they’re doing and it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve signed a nobody that turned out to be able to play. Interesting that we’ve signed 2 WRs that were Rams last year...

I hope they draft/sign Logan Woodside from Toledo who absolutely lit it up throwing for over 10k yds, 95tds /25 ints in his 3yr career. Would be fun to watch him win the No.3 and then eventually be our b/u in the near future. This kid is the same height/weight as Mahomes and is very Mahomesque in his play. Obviously does not have the cannon arm Pat has but is very athletic and can throw from many different positions on the run. Very accurate passer and intelligent. He is a "gamer" as well which is huge. Taike a look.

Wright is Ok but he's gonna be 29 this year, I totally agree about Braverman though, looks like a typical Patriots slot WR. He's so quick and elusive in the middle of the field and I think If he shines In the preseason games he's more than capable of earning a spot and I'm intrigued to see how he'd do In this offense. He's different to all the receivers we have right now IMO so would add a different dimension.

Too many panties wadded over a backup QB. Having a Grappleho' is a luxury, and the roster has too many spots to fill to overpay for a Booger at this time. The Chiefs should be continually using that 5-7 spot or UDFA to pick up the Graham Harrell's of the world and see what you can develop in to a legitimate #2 or flip down the road before the rookie contract expires.
