I am a bit ambivalent toward that family and what they've become... but at one time she was just a young, idealisitic woman who fell in love with a dashing young WWII fighter pilot

And they went on to become one of the most powerful families in the world... respect, RIP

RIP, she had some health problems for quite a while if memory serves. 92 is a full life, good for her.

That’s how it usually works when a very long time spouse passes away. It’s like one half of a person died, the other half is soon to follow.

Was thinking the same thing watching Fox just now, the other one often falls apart within days

For all of my reservations about that family, HW and Barbaras love was clearly legit and going strong since WWII... its very humanizing for them

Agreed.

In a way it’s sad but in a way it’s like a happy closing chapter to 70+ years together. That kind of stability is becoming more and more rare and is to be admired imho.
