View Full Version : Chiefs Call your shot 2018: Who will be the Chiefs first pick

pugsnotdrugs19
04-25-2018, 03:34 PM
Did this last year and had a lot of fun with it, and some success in some areas. The 2017 thread is here ---> http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=307365&highlight=Call+Your+Shot

Remember: This is where you put 1) Who you want the Chiefs to pick 2) Who you believe they will actually pick or 3) All of the above.

Obviously without a first round pick, it may not be tomorrow night. But it also might be given the trade up speculation. Keep that in mind with your predictions. Also keep it realistic. Obviously we aren’t nabbing Bradley Chubb or Quenton Nelson.

Based on who the Chiefs have brought in (Thanks dante for the awesome list) I think it will be one of these guys I have highlighted. I thought they might surprise everyone and go TE or Oline- but the secondary looks pretty bare. Our CB's were out-jumped by taller receivers last year (Houston) so I think they go with Carlton Davis. He looks like the real deal and can tackle, plus he is not a midget.

I used to follow the draft process and prospects like an insane person. For many years it was that way. Now, I have no idea. Which is nice, since it’s ultimatley a crapshoot, but I miss all the conversations here.

Today, however, I started thinking it would be cool if there was a thread similar to The Irrational Hatred Thread , but more like The Irrational Draft Shot Thread.

For instance......that Rosen kid . I think he will fall flat on his ****ing face. ....again, this is where the irrational part comes in.LMAO

This is a mess for the Chiefs. Frankly, its expensive to move into the first and I just don't like the board after about pick 27. Don't expect someone great to fall into our lap. Even in the 3rd round time after time we will see players we could use fall elsewhere. It's just one of 'those' draft years, unfortunately. I'm not sure trading next years 2nd (Rams) this year will yield something great. I would frankly trade out of the 2nd in favor of picking up a 3rd and a 5th. There are really only 4 players I think it would be worth going after...Will Hernandez G, Jackson CB and Holton Hill CB from Texas. I'd take Price if he falls to us at 54. Will be expensive to trade up. The better values are in the 3rd this year.

That’s a 10 year starter at a very important position that will make the PB half the time and 2-3 all pro teams.

Perfect for our system, too.

Most places I read say this draft is above average deep and you can find players in the 2nd and 3rd round.

I myself have no clue so I'll just listen the next few days and be entertained.

IF a CB is there at 54 they like or falls in the low 30's they will take a corner for sure. Who will it be ? No clue.

BUT something tells me if a corner is not there they will take a TE. It will either be Goedert, Gesicki or Andrews. I like Goedert and Andrews because they have the body to block as well although they didn't block in college.
